With the pc or laptop turned off, and a very lightly damp cloth give the keyboard, and mouse a good wipe over. Turn the keyboard up and shake out the crumbs, and then wipe the table that they sit on, so it doesn't have mug rings etc all over it.
We will be working on your office area for a few days.
The other task is to "file" either some documents, in you "my documents" or "favourites" list. Do at least 20, and keep doing 20 everyday for the next week!

My laptop is waiting to go back to the shop (when I've bought a new adaptor for the other one because I can't be PC-less  ) because the keys are sticking and laptop keybords do not take kindly to being cleaned

Use a Q tip then, very lightly damp, and give them a quick going over.
It is amazing how many germs are on a keyboard!

Good idea - how about dental floss for underneath the keys?
Document-wise I think I need to organise the photos in 'my pictures'

For reasons unknown, my pc runs slowly sometimes for no reason I can find. As a result I do full system maintenance plus full virusscan, registry update, defrag all drives, delete cookies and temp files etc a couple of times a week.
My keyboard is fine but the desk is gross!!!!!
