This dog isn't the brightest crayon in the box, as Anne Robinson would say. Down the beach he decided he would chase a heron, leapt into the sea, nearly drowned yet still went in for more.
The Heron
Spotted by Merlin
In he goes
Out he gets
After going in again, he gets stuck
Giving up
Coco really did think she was going to have to jump in and rescue him.

Kathy

My sister used to have a Newfoundland/Alsatian cross (called Wooley, 'cos he was...) and he loved water - any amount and he'd be in there, lying down for preference.
He took about three days to dry out completely, as we discovered when he came to stay with us for, oooh about four days
Jacky
Fantastic photos ...
Lovely wet dog smell
Cabbagepatch
Aaaaw, bless him
Libby
I'm not surprised he couldn't get out, he must weigh loads with all that soaking wet fur!!!
Kathy
He does have an exceptionally thick coat, he's actually pretty thin under that lot. Doesn't keep weight on at all, we're going to try him with a working dogs mix.

we had that problem with our merlin and went on to working greyhound mix
he bounced off the walls a bit but at least kept the weight on
now we have them all on working dog mix and they do well on it
and of course you pay no vat on working dog mix.....
Kathy
Ah yes, VAT, I forgot about that, must have a word with my feed man.
