Monday 28th AprilDo you think the winter is over? We have had a lovely weekend weather wise, not enough rain but just lovely.
I enjoyed my trip to the exotic garden centre, it was amazing, I spent loads but hey I don't smoke and hardly drink so what else could I spend my garden vouchers on
Taking K back to Uni today! So won't be around much!!!

Morning all
Libby, if you didn't get enough rain over the weekend it's because it was all up here - it was bucketing down all last evening and this morning, the sun is shining and the world looks like it's been washed clean - lovely
Am at my desk today and hoping for a quiet day!
Have a good one everyone

I've been on a 1st aid refresher course (2nd part tomorrow), so stuck in a big room all day.
As soon as I got home we took the dogs for a walk in the sunshine, lovely, just having a cuppa and pondering on what to do this evening!

Shopping and gardening have been the main themes for today. Gardening in the rain at one point too - in fact, it got so heavy I had to come indoors until it stopped. I have dug over and weeded the soft fruit beds, and put a wheelbarrow of Muck Heap No. 1 on the narrow one to top it up. I bought a dozen strawberry plants in Lidl today, so they're in the ground now. I am still waiting for OH to dig the top half of the veg plot for me and then I can incorporate half a dozen barrowloads of MH No. 1 as at present its almost under water (clay soil on top of slate bedrock). I've dug most of the bottom half and have stuff to go in but it can't until the top bit's done. Sigh.

Can't you threaten him with something Bovey?! Sounds as if you'll need a hot deep bath tonight, I got tired just reading that lot!
You have sunshine CP?not fair, stamps feet and sulks.........
I got the woodwork undercoated then Greenlady announced, at 4pm that her mentor was arriving this evening at 7 and staying over night. We all went into overdrive, and as we don't have a spare bed room had to turn the craft room into one. Had a bed down the back of a wardrobe (as you do) and Greenman had a mattress under his bed (as you do). With a bit of nifty furniture shifting we got it looking nice and then of course all the bathrooms had to be done, floors mopped etc etc. We'd just sat down for our dinner when she arrived. Sat there trying to look cool calm and collected when in actual fact the bucket and mop were hiding in the wrong cupboard with the water still in the bucket!
Going to take the dogs out now, the rain has stopped.

hello all
sorry i didn't make it last night but just chilled out after dinner in the end
the course went very well actually, everybody's basketwas completely different despite everybody having the same about of willow per basket
bovey's looked like a fruit bowl, low and wide and mine looks more loike a bicycle basket because it is flat on one side
the good news is that the two ladies are very pleased to come back again so we can all have another go
it is the first of other courses i hope, we need to think of other skills that can be done in one day and in small spaces in case we have to go into the office again or perhpas we could empty a barn for one
considering your idea of quilting bovey, just not sure where we could fit it in.....will make enquiries
my god was it raining this morning....heaving it down again it was and didn't stop until 2pm or so......mr nanny had to go off to llandovery first thing so i did 'pooter stuff putting ideas together and communicating to others......
mr nanny got on with putting the glass in the greenhouse when he got home, 10 whole sheets of glass in, hurrah!
i wandered off to llangadog on foot, didn't rain at all and then had to walk home part way because mr nanny forgot me...
still nevermind, it was and is a lovely evening now but more rain forecast for tomorrow
my tomatoes have started to come up and the cucumbers as well
hurry up mr nanny i need the greenhouse very soon

Weve been away for the weekend, so picked the dogs up from the kennels after school drop off. Two loads of washing etc. Drove over to Falmouth to pick up weld mesh for new chicken run and then on to Asda.
Picked girls up from school and then listened to chicks cheeping inside the eggs. Girls faces were a picture.
Took the girls to ride their bikes then baths and hair washes and off to bed.
Time to sit down.

Sounds like we have all had a busy day. Mine involved cooking at the Art Centre, only 25 lunches today.
Its been wet and chilly here today, OH has walked the dogs twice, and has got wet twice!
A bit of good news, one of our residents has a family holiday home on Angelsey, guess where we are going in June! It only sleeps 16, so the dogs can come as well.
The other news is that Tom and Jens mortgage has been approved at long last, so hopefully things will start moving soon.
Off for a quick shower, then Waking the Dead(if Ican stay awake).

So pleased for your Tom and Jen Cookie, that'll be a worry less for you.
I only ever had 1 holiday as a child and it was in Angelesy, in a farmhouse surrounded by sheep. My 2 sisters were fed up after a day, I loved it and spent all day outdoors riding a bike!
TGM, what is weld mesh and when are the chicks due to hatch?
Nanny, how on earth did you get forgotten...............................

I've tried the threats. I think he would rather have the, erm, womanly wiles approach! He has said he will do some this morning. Watch this space!
And Nanny - HOW could your darling OH forget you? Mind you, I did that with I think it was D at Infants' school, and they had to phone me up and say when was I coming to collect him?! (That was when he just did mornings . . .)

Kathy weld mesh is a form of fencing, its got rectangular holes, very small holes. Ive bought it in 9metre rolls to make the run for the new hen house over on the sharede land.
