Monday 5th May

Hi everyone.  Sun's shining, and my weekend away was absolutely wonderful.  I shall write it up on my blog - have enough material (and took about 150 photos!) to last the week out I reckon!

Kathy - we tried some Aloe Vera handcream at Badminton.  They were selling it for £25 a tub (we passed on that one).  It was wonderful stuff, but can't afford that sort of money.  Does Greenlady do a good handcream by any chance?

Off riding shortly, just need to grab a bite to eat and then groom the mud-plastered Arab . . . he is literally wearing half the paddock!

Morning all.

Pleased you had a great week BB.

We have both rooms going today, so I won't be able to start till about 10.

I am just about to watch youngest 2 have their riding lessons.  Meat in oven.  Just thinking how to tart it up a bit, and what to serve it with.

I need to do a sheep sort out later, counting teeth, and marking up.  It shouldn't take too long, but will be a good job done.  We are going to market on Thursday.  Oh is going to move last 2 out of the barn then he is cleaning it out, with the tractor.

The knock on effect is more room to put away other farm stuff that is in the field, like the harrows and the cattle crush, as well as the tractor, at night.

Swimming club tonight, and I have promised DD that I will finish her cardi there, so must look out the wool and buttons.  I want to re sew the sleeve on, as it is a bit crincled.

I would also like to get some gardening done, but we will see.  Another few days isn't going to make loads of difference.

I feel very tired this morning, too many cooking shifts last week.Have to look on the good side, the money comes in handy.
I planted the last of the flower seeds yesterday, and had a tidy up in our courtyard, when its windy, everything swirls around and all the leaves etc end up in piles  in the corners.
Barrie has put his back out again, so he's doing cook duty today, while I do more weeding around the site.
Have a nice day peeps!
Kathy

Morning all. glad you had a good weekend Bovey.  Very Happy

It's a beautiful day, everyone has their shorts on, well apart from Mr Kathy and myself, a sleeveless top will do me!  Laughing

The sheep are just lambing in the field beside us Alison, lovely to see but sad  to think where they'll all end up!

Bovey, I'll send some hand cream, we have surplus from Greenlady's practise sessions and her actual demonstration yesterday.  Smile

I'm off to plant beans and peas, have a good day everyone.

nanny

hello everybody

god it has been a beautiful day

and boy have i done a lot with it

after moving the gaots to a new location for the day i cracked on with making up the panels for the 4th bed, just managed to find enough nails by rooting round in all the buckets of them that seem to accumulate here....tomorrow will be netting and fitting those and then putting the second row of bean poles in

then i decided the best thing i could do was cut the grass, back and front which i have to say is a lot of grass...so i start and then stop because one of the goats has got under the fence and is starting on the fedge so had to repair that ...so i start again and the mower gets jammed up with wet grass so i stop and repair that.....so i start again and make mental note to self that even though you poo pick behind the dogs first thing in the morning doesn't mean they aren't going to do anything else during the day and it makes a bit of a spolt when you hit it with the lawn mower....so i stop and do a poop patrol and didn't finish everything till 5.30 in the end....put the goats back into their stable as i figure they will get out again till i can work out how to corrall them into the shelter in their new field at night....

the birds are singing their socks off out there still and the weather is still warm and pleasant......

and tomorrow should be even nicer

i do enjoy working outside in the sunshine

even had my shorts on today
Kathy

Laughing  Laughing Beautiful here too Nanny, I don't have any shorts though!

Got my peas and beans in and generally pottered around. Agapanthus popped in with a birthday present for E and some very nice tea from the Maldives.

I'm just out the bath and ready for a book and bed now, sleep well everyone.  Smile

Kathy - I hope you don't think I was cadging with the handcream?  I am happy to send a donation to Lluest - just couldn't afford £25 for a tub at Badminton (rip-off!)  Thankyou very much.
Kathy

Laughing  Laughing Of course not Bovey, I've seen the price of some of these creams,  they are a rip off. I've now had first hand experience of how to make wonderful creams and lip salves, don't need to pay £25.
Actually I've had an idea, I've got aloe vera plants here, wonder if I could use some to make a cream. I'll consult with Greenlady when she gets home!

Ooh - all excited now.  Having been gardening today, my hands certainly need a bit of help!
