tell me more - I know the principles, but are they comfy? do they work? will they withstand nighttimes and horse riding? Are they easy to get in and out?

they take some getting used to Aqui but once you get the hang of it they're comfortable. I'm not sure about horseriding with one but I'd expect it's okay, every other activity I've tried whilst using one has been fine i.e. when properly used you can't feel it. taking it out can be a little unnerving at first, it feels like it's stuck in a vaccum but once you get the hang of it then no probs. if you get one you more than likely won't like it at first but keep trying because you'll get there in the end, it takes a bit of trial and error before you get to know exactly what position is comfortable. never had an accident with mine so yes I'd say they do work. there's a long thread at downsizer.net about them and Titch (is it Titch, someone correct me if I've got it wrong) is a member there who sells them.

In a previous lifetime I read all about them over on Downsizer.net, and also reuseable tampons. Not my cup of tea perhaps, but that's no reason to have a gender based exclusion policy?

Anyway, the good points are obviously environmentally, and also cost. Though they seem kinda expensive, anything else just keeps adding up anyway.
I was looking into this only recently, and decided it was probably the best one. Though that'd be difficult to say for sure.
Anyway, I doubt horseriding would be a problem, as you're supposed to trim the stem anyway, else it causes problems.
Hohum.

I have used the keeper for about 6 years, and it looks very similar.
I have never trimmed the stem though, and it hasn't stopped me doing anything, although I sometimes wear a back up pad if I think it is really necessary.
