I'm a member of two groups, shortly to be a member of one group. The Bristol group mods focussed intently on me and modded every post I made for no good reason at all, so I just told them where to go, as they don't treat other posters like that.

Mind you, from the various sites we get and gve loads of good quality things.

Oh dear Lloyd, I must admit some of them can be a bit pedantic Rolling Eyes
But agree about the things you get.

I scour them for things for the Cat in Care Charity and have picked up bags of cat litter, cat food. What I'm after is bean bags but don't see many of them. Rolling Eyes

Well it really was getting ridiculous. The last straw was when they barred me from posting a "Wanted" for a computer chair, as they said it was cross posting, since I had advertised for one a week before in the other group.

I've used it for years, love it and am a member of 5 groups (there's lots of wee groups in my area). One group is like the one you mentioned Lloyd, I'm just waiting for them to start correcting spelling mistakes!  Rolling Eyes

Yes, the other day they cancelled a post I put which was a "Taken" one, after I had collected something. They said the giver had to post the taken message!

I'm a member. I've given more than I've taken - it's not very practical when you don't have a car!

I use it quite a lot - to give - its amazing what people would like.

I recently had lots of requests for the Practical Poultry magazines - I now have another carrier bag full.

Mind you they were in mint condition.  I have also give away a nice shed, chairs, flower arranging things, garden tools, in fact most of the things that were in the shed - perfectly good things.

Pat didn't want the shed where it was and we couldn't move it ourselves, then he realised that we wouldn't have anywhere to put all the tools etc so it made us de-clutter.   It was a nice feeling, and people were so appreciative - except two - who never even said thankyou.
mystictree

I'm a member of the Bristol one and haven't too much trouble with it but it has been impossible for me to join any of the surrounding groups as they say I should only be on the Bristol one or that even if I work inside a specific group area I can't join because I don't live there!!!

I still love freecycle though.

It was the Bristol one I quit. Freecycle was great but the moderators were ungreat. Evil or Very Mad
