My CatsI have 2 + 1
Why well I have had my two Tango
and Sassy
for 10 years now. I think I told you our neighbour was moving and asked us if we wanted their cat, we said yes as he's such an adorable puss.
He has been with us a month now, still does not respond to his name at all, still a possibbility he may be deaf
but
we had a break through yesterday, he met Sassy it was really funny to watch, he rushed up to her when he saw her, she swore at him and he went all love sick and followed her round for the rest of the day it was so sweet.
I think it may be a different story when he meets Tango!!

I am so behind with the threads, so I'm posting all over the place, the cats are just lovely and that's good news that they haven't tried to kill each other yet... how are they doing now? My older cat has taken a strong dislike to Phoenix, he's about 8 months now, they were fine when Pheen was a kitten but now Floss just wants to knock his head off
But really.... you don't have enough cats

What with that and the 7 week old chicks still in the house....well it is cold now....we virtually have to dance to get past them and the poo they drop too!!!! Costs a fortune in baby wipes!!!
Used to have 11 at one time That was fun!!!!

Has phoenix been neutered yet? Maybe your older cat is making sure phoenix knows whose boss!!
and I totally agree I don't have enough cats, I saw a lovely ginger girl at the cat rescue, but sadly hubby disagrees
Currently everyone is tollerating everyone else. Sassy has taken a major dislike to Jake and really yeowls, when he gets close to her, Tango just passes him no problems and the other night he nearly forgot himself and he and Jake bum wiggled ready to play but T suddenly remembered who he was!!
Jake still does not respond to his name at all, he has no idea who he is. He has free run of the whole house day and night now. My cats get let out the door and come in the catflap. Jake can't open doors and jumps on the work surfaces (a definate no in my house).
I have bought a harness so may take him outside next week as he has been cooped up for over 7 weeks. Got to get him to respond to his name before we even let him out on his own!

I got phoenix neutered a couple of months ago, I did think maybe that Floss felt a bit threatened and I'm hoping that it'll settle down eventually, but if not the house is big enough for both, they sleep in separate rooms
It's always a tense moment when you let the cats out in a new place for the first time, i hate doing it, Floss stayed inside until he was a year old, he didn't show any inclination to go out but he was getting fat so we decided it was time... I did try the lead harness thing but he went absolutely ballistic and near strangled himself

He has been wearing it round the house without the lead! I will pop it on again tomorrow as it looks like rain!!! The see what Wednesday holds!

Well the last week we have been in and out with Jake wearing the harness and lead and he successfully re-entered the house through the cat flap!
So as today was so glorious and we had 4 people about we thought we would leave the door open
so he has been in and out most of the morning and now he has totally disappeared we have not seen him for over 3 hours, I am frantic, how awful to have to phone my ex-neighbours and say 'we lost your cat'!
I must remain calm.
I must remain calm
I must remain calm
he will be back......................................... I hope

have you tried his old home address libby?
sometimes they go home don't they?
good luck, i am sure he will turn up

I went everywhere, searched everywhere... which is difficult as he is hard to spot being black...
anyway he returned 5 3/4 hours later
So I let him out this morning having allowed no food and he is back in and I didn't open the door so he must have used the cat flap!

Just a tad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacky

He was just testing his new mummy to see if she really loved him and she does, because she worried so much and tired herself out looking for me, so that's ok, now I will show her how clever I am and use the cat flap from now on
Cats who'd have 'em? ME

Theres some pics of him on my blog!

Since he has been allowed out, he is hysterical, so much so I really want to try and catch a video clip of him.....
basically now he wants to 'play' with Tango and thinks T is his new best friend, Tango on the other hand is a bit shocked about this bouncing pouncing animal and when Jake bum wiggles and pounces, T puts out a paw and pats him as if to say 'watch it mate' and Jake just falls over and flops on the floor! No matter where he is, he nearly fell of the sofa last night. Priceless!
