My foliates........ have never been so ex'd
I have used the coffee soap I sent fot the swap as a handsoap, and it was great for getting muck off because it's so gritty. This morning I used it in the shower.... I am just warning anyone who hasn't used it yet to be gentle with it.
As the sergeant on Hill Street Blues used to say... "Let's be careful out there".

I decided to use your soap for a shower - the coffee one - and it was lovely. I didn't need to use the shower scrunchy - just the bare soap.
Did you put the exact amount of coffee grounds in it as per the recipe or did you experiment.
I would like to make some for Christmas pressies so just wondered.
I don't drink coffee but love the smell of it - and when I stepped into the shower cubicle this morning, it smelt of coffee - a lovely wake up shower.
I can really recommend n's soap - from MC's book?
I am rationing all the soap swap soaps, and not using a new one until the other has finished - savouring every last bubble

I'll let you know on that one Libby when I've tried it. If I can do it any idiot can (Not calling you an idiot you do realise), my paranoia (sp) creeping in.

Lottie it's just what the recipe says in the Melinda Coss book. When I made it though I remember thinking that it was an ENORMOUS quantitiy of coffee grounds, and it did take an absolute age to trace. I ended up whisking it in the end!
But it is a really exfoliating soap, I have made soap with pinhead oatmeal before, expecting it to be roughish, but the oats aren't a patch on the coffee which is really quite scratchy. Good, but a bit of a surprise!
I forsee a new "generation" of soap-making addicts here...

That is why I bumped this topic - it had been sleeping for too long.
I found soapmaking easy to do - but a bit scary the first time - just because of all the warnings in the book.
It is just common sense really - and once you have made one batch you just want to go ahead and make some more.
Go for it!
And thanks for your reply n - I might make mine with less coffee - for sensitive skins
