natural sun block and deoderantwho can recommend a good source for these?
sunblock is for jack, deoderant is for me - i've heard the chemicals can get into milk, so habe stopped using normal stuff. i'm sure you can imagine the problem of that in this hot weather!

We stock 2 types of naural deodorant - one is a salt block that you dampen and rub on, the second is a stick of alum. We have had good feedback from both of them

Weleda do a nice rose deodorant, expensive but lasts for ages. I like this but your body does take a few days to adjust if you've been using "normal" deodorant.
This sunblock is supposed to be good, again expensive, but should last if it's for Jack. http://www.calmncomfy.co.uk/acatalog/sun-block.html
We don't use sunblock (cover up when needed) so I can't make a personal recommendation.

I bought a "natural" sunblock, but then read all the bad things about the apparently natural sunblock and now not so sure about the benefits of using it. We tend to do as Kathy now and just cover up and stay out of the sun once we've had enough. I bought this sunblock and it worked well on the children "Caribbean Blue Baby SunShield SPF15" and for me I used "Caribbean Blue SunShield Sunscreen SPF8", the link to the sunscreen section is here http://www.theremustbeabetterway....Care/Chemical_Free_Sunscreens.htm and the main website is here http://www.theremustbeabetterway.co.uk/Products.htm Staying out the sun works well but it's not always easy with children and babies can burn very quickly so it is probably advisable to use it on your little one.

I'm wondering what people used before sunblocks existed, does anyone know.

not yet Kathy, I don't drink that quick! I was thinking of that Aussie campaign slip slop slap or something like that.
Did you find out anything on Google? I think before sunblock we just didn't use anything, kept out of the sun when we'd had too much.

Still looking, I'm sure there must have been a "witchcraft" solution.
