New from old

E and I have been gathering slivers of soap and today had enough to recycle. Melted the pieces down in a double boiler, add a few oats then spooned into muffin tins. They cooled quickly and have made a soft but scrubby soap.Nice, safe, easy thing for a 5 year old whilst teaching about recycling. She gave them to her Aunties and Mum this evening when they got in from work. Very Happy

Laughing Laughing It's the equivalent of putting a heat proof dish over a saucepan with boiling water, like you do to melt chocolate for chocolate crispies!

Similar to a bain marie I suppose. We bought one at a car boot sale for 5p and it gets used all the time.
