New Year Party......... Can we have one?
I'm feeling sad that I missed the obviously fantastic panto
Haize
I missed it too, and I'd been looking forward to it!
Some day I will manage to attend a successful forum party, but I'm not sure when
nanny-now and forever
sorry you couldn't make it haize
you would have been a much better vegetable than me.........................
Leonie2
new year's party sounds good. we will, as usual, be home for new year, no doubt OH will spend the evening channel hopping and I'll be online
Cabbagepatch
Count us in!!!
Leonie2
okay, so should be organise some entertainment, any games, jokes etc. you want to think about linking to on the night. and maybe we should do a fancy dress, surprise us with your avatar on the night
Kathy
I'll be here, in my fancy dress!
Becki
oh goody!
Kathy
Cabbagepatch

We have invitations to go out and have talked about a party here, nothing planned particularly (can't quite summon up the energy to think of more entertaining) so..everyone waiting for last minute invitation....and it won't be coming from us
The idea of a quiet night home, just the two of us (maybe a few random teens but not to worry!!), is very very appealing.
A Potting Shed get together would be just great.
nanny-now and forever
i shall be here to be sure but doubt if i will make it to the bitter end............we are both working on new year's day......
Haize
We might be staying in for New Year's, in which case I'd definitely pop in. OH doesn't really fancy the drive back from relatives on Monday, then back to work Tuesday, so it looks unlikely that we will go away. Shan't be joining friends out in Leeds (that would be insane!), though wouldn't mind an event at one of our houses.
Whatever, I've a cold and am feeling pretty against the idea of leaving the house entirely!
Kathy
I don't "do" New Year, and am babysitting so a fancy dress do here will be just the ticket!

but you're scots!!!
you surely do hogmanay?
dancing round in kilts and listening to andy what's his name on the telly whilst adressing your haggis and mashing your neeps and tatties
don't destroy the image..................
lloyd
Maybe we could instead do a Hogmanay virtual Ceileidh (sp) in here then, with Kathy calling the dance moves, SL replenishing glasses of fine old single malt, Mr Kathy in a skirt, Lottie, Becki and CP sorting tatties and neeps in the kitchen, Me and Smutty checking on th elivestock, Leonnie and Nanster dancing with anything in trousers ( ), Mr Nanny with th esprouts repeating on him, also in a skirt........
what do you think?

i think it sounds like an excellent idea
anything?
surely a bit of good taste will prevail
and anyway
i happen to know mr nanny looks extrmely good in a kilt as he has one......as bequeathed to him by his great uncle of the black watch...
lloyd
My watch is silver in colour but keeps excellent time.
Cabbagepatch
oh gawd here we go again.........
Leonie2
oooh yes, I forgot it's fancy dress, better decide on a costume...
Cabbagepatch
Am pondering on a traditional Welsh costume....the long black dress, pinnie over the top and a pointy black hat with a bit of white lace.....
or could shove the turkey and gravy splashed apron from christmas day on, bung a few curlers in and come dressed as a 40's young mother awaiting her man home from the war.....
well, not much difference between the two really.
Leonie2
I was thinking more along the lines of catwoman or trinity, oooh-errr

mrutty

Kathy
I'll be popping in and out, just going to have a rummage in my VERY EXTENSIVE WARDROBE.
Leonie2
I'll be popping in but not sure I'll make it to midnight, hardly slept last night
Becki
I'll pop in and out too. Just off to find a dress.
Becki

mrutty
Well I've found some thing, but not sure it's me
mrutty
Becki didn't like the snapper outfit and says I should come as a superhero
Leonie2

Leonie2

Becki
Well, I might change outfit later on but I thopught this one was nice..........

Becki

Don't say I didn't warn you
Oh and sorry about his outfit, I didn't invite him, he shed crashed!
I'm still here for a while.
Cabbagepatch
Lloyd is having a cider and I've got a glass of wine on the go. Purely medicinal you understand after this afternoon
Daughter and "SIL" just called in on their way to a party. So I haven't had time to sort a frock out
Becki
I have been prepared for once. I didn't want to miss this one, unlike the Panto

Leonie2

Oh gawd, I feel like cinders, nothing to wear......
nanny-now and forever
well it looks like i will have to have a look in my wardrobe as well
haven't started on the drinkies yet by the way
so what's the form then?
country dancing?
waving pig's bladders idly about while jingling our bells
i reckon mrutty could do that with or without the snapper............
mr nanny is getting his sprouts tonight
i have held off long enoughseeing the weather, it lools like we are doing the best thing and staying in...............
Kathy
You're all so kind, it was just a few things I threw together, I do tend to scrub up well and I'm used to heels, have to wear them in my night time job.
Kathy
Not sure I'd manage the country dancing in those heels.....might all end up in tears
Leonie2
night time job? don't tell us please
Kathy
OK, I'm cracking open the drink, elderberry port anyone?
Cabbagepatch

nanny-now and forever
it is post sprouts
Kathy
Only one cure for that then.
Leonie2
afraid I'm on the tea now, I'm flagging in my old age what with not sleeping last night and then been dragged around the countryside today in gale force winds, horizontal rain, knee high in mud, you get the picture (maybe a slight exaggeration)
nanny you look lovely, I admire you ladies who can walk in those kind of heels!
and cabbage....well, you have to tell me what face cream you're using, you look years younger
nanny-now and forever
i suspect him to be on his 3rd gin and tonic by now
not much noise coming from the room
he may have expired
hope not as he hasn't finished the bathroom lino yet
is it just you and me doing the dancing then?
who is doing the calling?
Kathy
