As I have mentioned elsewhere on here, I moved from Heathrow's armpit to Blackwater, Hampshire about 18 months ago.
I am mostly happy to be away from where I used to live (its not actually AT the end of the world, but you can see it from there). BUT, I did at least have an allotment about half a mile from my house. The rent was £18 a year for a full plot and there was water, toilets, a shop and free manure. It was lovely and so were the old men who used to laugh at me for being organic.
Now I am in a beautiful place which is neither big town or country, just the right mix. AND NO ALLOTMENTS! My local council, HART, do not offer allotments anywhere and the neighbouring councils have dropped HART residents from their waiting lists. I have written to the council several times, pointing out their obligation and the fact that there are many people like me who want an allotment. I have signed various petitions online but they just say that there is no budget for allotments in HART.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do next when they are simply refusing to budge because of lack of funds, despite the law?

Can't really offer any advice I'm afraid, but it's a pretty rotten attitude for the Council to take. Have you tried writing to the local papers, and trying to get heard on local radio, to try and shame them into action?

I don't know either but anything to do with the council then I think your local counciller, or whatever they are called these days can offer advice and help.
