noisy neighboursour little house is near a flat that we have to go under to reach our parking spaces. We had a young lady move into the flat who has been nothing but trouble since she moved there. She abuses the parking spaces and parks her car where nobody else can get to theirs spaces. Last weekend she held a party till 5.30am and yesterday she held another party that started at 3pm and finished at 8pm, only to resume at 1am after they had been out for the night, and finish at 2.30am. They were urinating up the dustbins, and my daughter heard them mention a stanley knife, which can only mean they were contemplating drugs. The police and the environment were called, but failed to attend, and to top it all another party was taking place further up the close, and they had music blaring out in the garden at 3.30am. Just when you think all is well, another one started up. Again the police and the envirnment were told, but failed to attend!!!!! Why do we pay our scouncil taxes?????????

That must be an awful situation to be in
What excuse do the authorities give for not turning up?

Blimey what a situation!!! Is it worth phoning the police (not on 999) and the council and asking what the situation is regarding continual noisy parties?

"Great" I told the person I spoke too. "That won't stop the noise will it"? So dont get any nise after about 2.am as nobody is about to deal with it!!!!!! You are not allowed to phone 999 as it's not life threatening. So my son got told anyway!!!!!

I had to 'see off' a teenager today that passed her time throwing stones around the close. She was throwing them like you would throw stones into the sea. One hit my door, another the wall, and the last one the WINDOW . They were waiting for her friends mum to come home. The friend was the one that lived there. I went out to her and she laughed. So I said fine and picked up the phone to call the police, and she said that she didn't live there, and I read the riot act to her. They went away after that!!! This was an unrelated matter, and she was bored, as I think some of the students had the day off today!!!!!!!

Please may I join you on your soapbox! ??
Our house is situated on a corner, so image my garden like a cheese triangle. When I sit in the garden I am almost directly under next doors upstairs windows (rented house, not my choice for a residence!!)
Yesterday son of approx 17 yrs leans out of window and lets rip at his grand mother in his best ‘F’ ing language about why his clothes wet still wet!! “I told you when I wanted them … etc”
Firstly, on either side of our gardens are families with young children of 4 & 5.
Secondly, it would seem he is a selfish 5* jerk and cares not a jot about others.
And thirdly, who ever talked to their grandparents like that!?
Sadly as Mum & Dad talk like that too, and equally as load, why should he know any better!
Also he is big enough and ugly enough to do his own laundry! The mind boggles …
Time to move !!

You have my sympathies janowl, horrible situation. Would it be worthwhile writing to your local MP explaining the whole situation including lack of response from the police etc?
Flowerlady, if my son ever spoke to his grandparents like that I would flatten him But I absolutely know for sure that he wouldn't.
I really do believe so many of these problems are rooted in the fact that parents just don't/can't make the effort to teach their children right from wrong. Not even basic manners in some cases. But even older people seem to have forgotten how to behave. Whatever happened to standing aside to let someone exit a shop before you walk in? Why don't people say Good Morning as they pass each other any more?
Going to make a cup of chamomile tea to calm down...

Well I live in Watford ... and my husband walks with a stick at the moment
... the times that I have opened swing doors for him to walk through to have YOUNG people push through before him is countless!
Schools also have a lot to answer for!

It can't all be blamed on schools. I really believe that discipline, good manners and thoughtfulness for others begins at home. If a parent hasn't instilled these basics into his/her child, then how can a teacher with a class of 30 be expected to do so?
Actually, I think we've gone off topic and hijacked this thread!
