Not quite a machine buthelp needed please.
I have been trying to be a good girl and copy all my photos to discs. I have a variety CDR and CDRW different makes etc etc. Anyway for some unknown reason to me sometimes my comp recognises there is a new disc in the RW drawer and sometimes it doesn't it tells me to put one in when there is already one there.
Why?

We sometimes have that problem with ours.....no know idea why though

Some blank discs are duff so they are read as used. I throw them away and put another disc in. Good quality blank disc spindles don't have as many "duffs" as the cheapies.

I don't know if this is an option, but I got fed up of CDs of my photos, so bought an external drive instead. Or a USB pen thingy - what are they called?

Thats what I had Aqui but the dam thing broke and I had no other back up with all my pics on it. They are lost for ever so I have them on my external hard drive and I'm trying to get them on disc also!
Hubby says you should have son, father, grandfather three seperate copies  I said in your dreams and paid for it So am now trying to get at least two copies backed up!!!
