NuffinkI have never been as disorganised as this year, have done practically nuffink so far and am starting to panic a bit.
I just can't get motivated with it all, how is everyone else doing?

I generally don't do anything till December.
Because we do a secret santa in our family there's not really the panic as we only have 1 present each to think about. E joins in with this too although we do buy a couple of things for under the tree for her. We're trying to bring her up away from rampant commercialism. The school she goes to supports this and children are discouraged from bringing presents into the school. They have a "giving circle" where each child brings in something of their own, unwrapped. These go into the middle and each child takes something home, a lovely idea I think.
The cake is made, the pickles are made, thats it really.

Made the mini chipolatas and the bacon wraps for the turkey and in the freezer, 2 stuffings also in freezer. Puddings done, cake done and the mince pies, just been given a good mix of game, venison, rabbit, pheasant and a few pigeons that will make a nice raised game pie or game terrine or both.

Not tooooo bad I s'pose...
Cake made
Pudding steaming right now
Pickles made
Turkey ordered
Parents invited for The Day
Cards and stamps bought (I know I should make cards, but I didn't get organised in time ...)
On the gift front:
Oxfam Unwrapped pressies ordered for our (6) siblings;
My parents' pressie ordered;
For our (4) grandbabies, a book, a jumper and a bag of chocolate coins is (almost) organised (one jumper to finish) - I guess we'll be getting them a small toy apiece as well;
Which leaves presents for our (4) children, their half-brother and our (2) children-in-law
We have a really nice fair trade shop in town, which stocks all sorts of lovely and unusual things, so I think a trip there is in order - it almost always comes up trumps.

Wish I didn't ask now
But, I did make a list of things to do/make/buy this afternoon. Suppose that is progress...

I'm coming to the end of all the presents I've been making - mainly quilted cushion covers for family including little ones. I've done 10 so far. I've made D a blues and white patchwork quilt, and am just tufting that. Nearly finished making T a crazy patchwork bag with embellishments. Have yet to embroider the pillowcases for the girls. I've quilted a wallhanging, and made a fleece hat and scarf for my cousin's little boy, who they adopted from Cambodia. I've made the cake, made lots of hooch, chutneys and pickles, home-made mincemeat (pear this year). We bought a culled deer, so that's all in the freezer and we're having a haunch of venison for Christmas lunch. I've sent off all my overseas cards too. So I'm getting there. This is the first Christmas I have EVER been as organised as this. I made an attempt last year, but started earlier this year.

I am totally disorganised this year I have to make some cards, buy some cards, buy some presents, but for my parents i`m making up a hamper, its much easier. I still have Sophie and Thomas`s to get, but hopefully that`ll be on saturday, which looks like a very busy day for me I have apple chutney to make, which I love, not making a cake, as I`m the only one that likes it. we used to have a fair trade shop but it closed down, but there is another shop, which does sell lots of fair trade stuff, and I love the things in there, so I asked Thomas to get my present from there, as it`ll be easier for him, he wont know what to get me otherwise ! one year when he was about 5, he wanted to get me disco lights

Was just having a look through some of the old posts and found this one from last year.
CP and I, 2nd December, nothing done and Nanny hadn't got her overseas cards sorted and RWR still had her chutney to make. Will it be the same this year I wonder.......................
