Does anyone do origami? Lottie sent me some lovely origami papers and I've been looking for something to make with them. I found this website and thought I'd might try one of these pinwheels. The paper is quite small so it will probably be a mini sized pinwheel. If I'm at all successful I'll post a photo of the finished project.

I've never done this but n did this very fancy thing on her last visit, quite fascinating watching it take shape.
I think Grandaughter would like this and I thought we could start with making seed pots with newspaper as she's quite fascinated with all things gardening and growing.

I saw some fairly simple projects when I was looking on google, would be good for kids. Newspaper pots are easy to make, we made lots last year for the growing season.

I did some a year or so ago and was fairly pleased with the results. I'm not sure where all my try-outs ended up but I did have a nice book which I've still got. I never did get to master the elephant though!!!

Here's some origami boxes:

My mum made three of them, the purple and blue hexagonal one was my attempt. The one with the bunny face on came to me full of chocolate, at easter last year Very Happy

That paper looks like the proper Japanese stuff, Jesse, very nice!

Shall I ask Haruko for some ideas for you all. The origami paper is the standard size that they all use in Japan.

My hands are rather large so I have trouble.

She makes lovely things - she is coming tomorrow so I will see if we get time to do some. Maybe I can baby sit and she can make some.

I know that you can make some kimonos for decorating cards and I made a fish - if I can find it!

Sorry for the delay - things didn't go to plan so dil and baby and son only here a few hours then had to dash off home.

But

I have a booklet of exmples = like a frog, bird, fish, flower etc that I will post to you Jesse, I don't have a copier or scanner otherwise I would have copied it.

I also sent Kathy a leaflet with packet of origami paper as part of the spring swap, so maybe if Kathy has a photocopier or scanner she might be able to copy those.

In the meantime dil will look some things up. They have just moved and so are up to their eyes in packing boxes and with a young demanding baby - unpacking and getting the home straight is taking longer than they thought.

It will be in the post tomorrow Jesse - will do it on my way to physio and acupunture, so hopefully you will get it saturday or monday at latest. Will include your card book and the soap moulds.

Huge thanks
