That's fantastic Becki, our's are due today but no sign yet, I know a watched pot won't boil but surely that doesn't apply to hatching chicks?

Good grief - you'll be overrun with chooks!

Becki

It was quite a success rate

Kathy

Good grief, that's a lot of chicks, did you hear them cheaping before they came out of the shell?

Aqui

when they first come out they are freaky-looking things - like little dinosaurs.
And what Kathy said - lordy that's a lot!

We did here them, yes.
I have just been told on another forum that I shouldn't have helped them out of their shells. Mark did this. Last time we hatched some the success rate was poor because they died trying to get out. We helped this lot and most of them survived.
The 1 we didn't help has now died. We have quite tough egg shells here.
But they are alive and fluffy

did all 13 hatch successfully then?
what are you going to do with all of them
that's almost enough for a commercial flock
you will be an egg magnate
better than being a fridge magnet i guess
(the old ones are the best)
