Our New Air Rifle

We picked this up today we was after an S410 but this turned up instead an Air Arms S510  Very Happy

Can't wait to get out and report back on what we get for dinner  Laughing

The S510 is a wicked pcp, Jen. What calibre?......Do you charge it with bottle or stirrup pump?

Now you can get serious in your quest for free healthy fresh wild meat. Mind me asking what it cost? I still fall back on my Titan pcp from time to time. That's a .177 as I prefer the flat trajectory and high velocity with high penetration of the pellet.

Hiya Lloyd  Very Happy  Rich is working so can only say the basics i know till he gets in lol I'm just learning, its a .22 we got it for £480 and Rich traded 2 of his big bang guns in lol... for it he knows the owners of the shop and they just  had this in after the guy who baught it only had it 3 weeks and relised he needed a diffrent rifle for some target shooting he was doing or something, so it's brand new only been fire'd up once before we got it so how lucky was we  Very Happy

I'm just getting into it at the mo so I aint brilliant but just about ,manage to keep my shots on the targets  Laughing

This was Richies first go at her below when we went to sight it in... Mmmm slightly better than me  Laughing

Richies after a divers bottle soon, when we got some cash so the shop refill it at the moment for us free  Very Happy

Get the newest botle you can as they are date stamped and require annual inspection before refilling. I have found to my cost that repair can be expensive, which is why I now only use a stirrup pump. If Rich gets his FAC amended he could then take the gun from 12 foot pounds up to say, 30 which makes it a very much more potent weapon.

Cheers for that info Lloyd  Very Happy  as I say I aint got much of a clue at the moment but we was offered a bottle the otherday £100 but TBH the re fills at gun shop will be better for us until we get sorted cash wise.

Richies teaching me with this one at present my olde "BSA Mercury" I used to just mess about with is back in Coventry...he wants to get a universal stock like my old Rifle for me next because I am  ambidextrous you see and apparently better fireing with my left eye? cyclops

I can shoot my catty with both hands you see looks abit strange the way I do it sometimes but it's working for me and i'm hitting the targets.
With allot more practice on the Rifle I'm really looking forward to going out in the field for real  Very Happy
lloyd

Spot on. Practise has no substitute as the quarry must be killed as efficiently and speedily as possible, as I'm sure you already know. Good luck and keep us all informed of progress. Maybe one day we will have to have a shooting comp, as we don't live that far apart.

Hiya lloyd ,bit gutted actually coz i had a divers bottle with the weirauch 100 but let it go when i part exd the air rifle for the tikka .223  Crying or Very sad
Which stirrup pump do you use and has it got a filter attachment?
lloyd

Now you're asking. No idea on make, and no it doesn't have a filter, although it maks sense to have one, to prevent moisture getting in to the chamber. My non fac pcp only needs about tenpumps or so.
morlan578

that might be the way to then rather than the divers bottle ,We,re ok at the mo coz the local gun shop has a recharging service and their only just down the road  Very Happy
