For years now I have decorated the outside of my house, not with loads but just a few! 2 years ago my neighbours started putting up icicles one of them owns a big digger thing that he used to put them up. Because neither Mark nor I are good at heights, I asked if I bought some would they be able to put them up for me, no problem they said. For 2 years it has been fine.

So last Saturday (2nd) I asked when they would be putting up their icicles and I was told 'definately not this weekend, they where far too busy' I said fine, when ever they could would suit me!!!

I went out the front about mid-day Sunday and they had put both of theirs up!!!!!!! Sad

Quite a few years ago I seem to remember seeing somewhere online a pole you could use to put up these decorations! Does anyone recall seeing one, or know of something similar that I could use standing at ground level???

Well sadly thats what our neighbours are like!!! 2 years ago we had 2 sets of neighbours move in so I thought lets have a bar-b-que to welcome them and invite all the other neighbours too, it was great, everyone new and old had a great time and thanked me profusely the next day!!!! Last Christmas we had a 'Mid-winter Party' basically slap dab between Christmas & New Year again invited all the neighbours and again it was great hit everyone staying late eating all the food and drinking all the booze and again thanks the next day!!! Have we recieved an invite back 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'! Yet many a do has been held! So thats why we now keep ourselves to ourselves!!!

I think it maybe something to do with my hubby, to alot of people think he is 'odd'. He had a test about a year ago which said he had 'Attention Deficit Disorder' (comes under the same umbrella as Aspergers)but because he had become so skilled at using various techniques he had overcome many of the problems associated with it.

But I don't care sod the lot of them I say, he is the best man in the world for me! Boy do we have some laughs!! So as far as I'm concerned they have burnt there, whatever it is they have burnt!!!!!!!! Laughing

someone near us has a decorated christmas tree outside their house, with lights aswell, it looks really nice

just started putting up mine gotag good few . got some new lights and bits from freecycle last year so am gonna use them as well ( after safety checks ) and shove the rest of wht i have up , i am the only one in our road who bothers now ,and i only do it for jade , we had one house in the village who did it and the old fella used to collect for charity and had a massive amount of lights and werked to a plan to lay them out there was so many . the district council sent him a letter saying that he was causing a traffic problem with people coming to see the lights and he had to stop or they would be looking to prosecute him. we all banded together and told them to fffffffffff off .and we then told them to go be PC some place else . they then sent him an order to stop . so we all went to play up in town over the money they waste on xmas lights . no joy tho so we organised the whole village to boycott council amenities . the parish council threatened to cancel ouncil contracts for grass cutting and what ever the village used them for . we even went as far to organise a private dustbin service in the village. we won out they changed thier minds .. the councillors who had brought all this on went back to werking in woolies or whatever they didnt get reelected . shame was the old fella died that spring . so now i am gonna do mine

we have had xmas decorations taken down in lowestoft from light posts as they are worried about them falling on people and the resulting insurance claims ,,,,, the council was orderd to put them back up as they had been there for 50 yrs and had not made any diference . this followed after a news article about another council taking them down

and yes you guessed it ,, I DESPISE THE ANALS WHO INSIST ON POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. what a sorry waste of space thier lives must be Evil or Very Mad
