overwintering crops?it's feeling rather autumnal, so I'm starting to think ahead today....
What can you grow (to sow now) to overwinter?
Obviously too late now for brassicas, but I'm thinking of sowing/growing the following (some might be a bit experimental!):
carrots
beetroot
rocket/lettuce
garlic
broad beans
chard
pak choi (if i can get some seed)
spinach
not going to bother with onions or shallots.
what else can I grow? I'm in the south east, so it shouldn't be too cold here over winter (I hope!) But we do have heavy clay soil.

You could try the winter cabbage & lettuce, or if you have cabbage in now, when you cut it, leave a stump in the ground & cut a cross over the stalk, the result will be some lovely spring greens.

We don't really eat cabbage. Sorry I should've said that. I think my list is probably enough for me anyway!
