Paper log makerNot sure if this is the right place to ask but does anyone use a paperlog maker?
Ive seen them advertised over the years and never really followed it up, but now have a supply of as much newspaper as I would like. It seems a shame not to make the most of it but dont want to buy one if it wont be any good.

I'm sure Becki's OH has instructions on his website for making one, I remember him saying they were a rip off to buy!
Becki?

We've got a (bought) one - it works a treat but you do have to make sure that the paper is well compressed and completely dry before you burn it.
Apparently ordinary copier paper also works - I'm considering taking the contents of the shredder home from the office to see how that goes.

They do sound an absolutely rip-off price I must say, and someone mentioned that it was difficult getting the paper bricks to dry - they had to leave theirs in the greenhouse or something?

I've heard that shredded paper won't stay compressed when dried, just falls apart again.

I think it depends on how wet you get the paper - it's just papier mache really I guess.
As for getting them dry, ours take about a week in the bottom of the airing cupboard...
