do you not think that as soon as you type in your tax code that these people can acces other information about you ? . for safety sake i would refrain from typing any sensitive information into web sites . your tax code is as unique as your bank account details and i am sure you would not just type those in , regs karl |

Not really, tax code only represents the amount that you can earn before the lowest band of tax is applied. Having multiple jobs, benefits, and company cars is what affects it, but all that can be told from the code is the overall effect on your earnings, not what it causing it.
It should be a letter, then some digits. Multiply those digits by 10 I think to get your tax free allowance. The 10% band is always the same size after that, as is the 22% one. One of my OH's colleagues has a negative one! He basically starts out owing tax before he has worked at all
