Pedagogy of PlaceCan someone explain in simplish terms what this means. It's come up at E's school, someone is preparing it but it just sounds like double dutch to me.

nanny-now and forever

i read it as taking the kids outside and getting them to do nature studies and things like that
becoming aquainted with their local outdoor environment
newspeak just makes it sound more impressive and banjaxes people on purpose

Ah, that explains it better Nanny, our kids go out to nature school most days so I'll assume there's a paper being written about it. Why can't they just call it something normal, like Outdoor Play......................

My God, is that school terminology for a scheduled session then?...How stupid!....And the last laugh is on them as a pedagogue is If I am right, someone who uses or misuses words to their advantage. I may be wrong, not checked.........

A pedagogue is a teacher, so I guess it's 'teaching about the place', which ties in with nature studies! Although I believe it also applies to wherever you happen to be, so pedagogy of place for me right now would be teaching me about and how to appreciate my desk space
