Ok here's my most recent painting. It's A5 sized and painted with watercolours. The scanner doesn't represent the colours brilliantly but you'll get an idea.

Thank you. I do feel as though I'm showing off but it's nice to share what I can do.

Lovely Plocket and no you're not showing off, we all love looking at what each other do, that's how we all get inspiration to try new things.

My goodness - that is really brilliant and such vivid colours - crocosmia too. I bought one of those from Geoff Hamilton's garden from his actual plants not bought in.
You share my love of all things nature then - that is so obvious otherwise you would not have been able to paint it so well.
Have you neen to classes or on a botannical painting course.
Thanks for sharing it with us. That wasn't so bad was it - so you can do it again in the future can't you.
You can sleep well now - with a proud smile on your face too.
Night night

Beautiful Plocket, well done. It's something I've never been able to do and envy your talent.

Fabulous, you have a real talent there! Such gorgeous colours too.
Water colour has always seemed a wishy washy kind of medium, but maybe I should reconsider.

Nope - no classes other than at school. I'm lucky that painting and drawing is something that comes naturally to me. I think I have a good eye and know straight away whether I can paint something or not. Colours are important too and funnily enough I find it more difficult to paint pink flowers!!! My problem at this time of year is getting inspiration, and of course finding time, because I've usually got other things on the go too. Oooh that reminds me, I need to report on my knitting plans!!! Off to the right thread I go..... (Thank you everyone for your lovely words. They mean so much to me.)

Very good Plocket, i havent done any lately but must get back into it, you get a feeling of acheivement and you sound like myself, your own worst critic. No need it is great.

Thank you SL. It's strange but I hadn't painted for years and then last summer a friend of mine started to encourage me (nag me!!!) so I started again. It took a while to get back into the feel of things but I'm so glad I did. I'm going to try and do a painting a fortnight to keep my hand in - perhaps a tough ambition but hey ho!!!
I'd love to see some of your work if you wouldn't mind - pretty please?

Oh my goodness, that is a beautiful painting Plocket! I think that a really well done painting can represent a plant better than a photograph, a painting like this would be just right in a herbal book
