The sun is shining and the wind is blowing enough to dry any amount of washing. There are lots of people around so it looks to be a good weekend.

It's been lovely here too.
CP, it must be quite a strange feeling, but I'm sure you'll love your new job. (Especially the bit where you get to tell Lloyd what to do!)
Happy birthday to Libby's eldest.
Nice to have you back Cookie, sounds like you've had a busy time. I'm keeping fingers crossed for Tom and Jen and congrats to your other son.
I've been getting Greenlady's dispensary finished. All units in place and lotions and potions moved through there, just need a plumber now. She didn't know I was doing this today so a nice suprise when she comes home from work. All this meant I had to sort the pantry out so that's spick and span now. Found some rather tasty bramble jam from 2005, there's strawberry and gooseberry too, plus some rhubarb chutney I don't even remember making. It's all kept fine, no mould I'm pleased to say.
MY ONIONS ARE IN.
Sorry, I've been trying to get near them for the last 2 weeks now!
I'm halfway through cooking dinner, lentil burgers, baked potatoes with an apple and red pepper sauce. Hope to get some more gardening done after tea.

Happy birthday to Libby Junior again!'
Well done on the onions Kathy - and rhubarb chutney? Do you still have the recipe?
I've finished cleaning the damp patch on the ceiling (apart from a small bit I need T to do as there's nothing to hold onto where it is and I'm not good enough with ladders to not hold on!) Cleaned the frame of one window (we have BIG windows) and one pane of glass (think that might be another job for T to finish!) scraped and sanded the windowsill. Made 5 portions of lentil bolognase. tidied up a bit. 2nd load of washing in the machine....

Well, I am having a LOVELY day. I went to the Farm Open Day at Brenda's farm t'other side of Newcastle Emlyn. She has a the Owlscote flock of Jacob sheep. I took the Mincemeat cake, and about 8 pots of jam and chutney for one of their stalls, and bought 3 pots of Celery which is now planted in the veg plot. I had a nice chat to Brenda as she was spinning - she has a lovely workshop with woodburner - and have booked myself in for the one day tapestry weaving course she is holding in January. I was already invited to join her spinning group this winter, and I'm looking forward to that, though it will be early December before it starts.
I stopped off in Newcastle Emlyn on the way back, and took LOTS of photos - some of the castle, river Teifi, and the town. I have to confess I bought some instant colour in the form of Snapdragons (such pretty colours) and some Violas too. Oh, and a Blue Corydalis. They're all planted up as well. It's a pleasant little town to wander round - still has individual shops, which is always a blessing these days. I hadn't been to the castle for absolutely ages - there's not much of it left, but it has a fabulous setting with the River Teifi below it (well, to one side obviously!) I've written it up on my blog anyway, and a couple of other bits - one shows what happens when you have a garden reclaimed from wilderness and the other piece is about our visit to Margam Park yesterday, so LOTS of photos.

been lovely day this side of offa's dyke if a bit windy
CP it is a strange feeling and one that i found difficult at times, i kept waiting for my holiday to end....all change until the new job starts, enjoy it while you can
well we went and saw the pony, it is very thin and bony however, other than that, there are no marks or bald patches or anything else that we come to expect with cruelty cases....it also had no water but the other horses in the same field looked fine....
mr nanny to deal further
we did have a little look round the area as we had never been there before and it was quite lovely i have to say
back then for lunch and the final preparations for monday, we have had to change steel for another pony as he just wasn't going to dress up for the event so llwyd is going to be tinkerbelle and alfie will be our other unicorn...mr nanny cut the horn to fit and with a bit of fishing line here and there, it is secure and fits nicely.............
i got on with cutting the grass (AGAIN) and fit some shading in the greenhouse so hopefully no more of my plants will burn to a crisp like my cucumber has....
didn't tell you about the disaster i had with my plate rack that collapsed the other day and dropped all my plates on top of the cooker glass.....
fortunately for me, the plates broke and not the cooker glass but we have been a tad hard up for crockery....a trip to wilkinson's yesterday and i replaced all that for 50 pence a plate and today mr nanny has corrected the design fault that caused the problem.....
still don't trust it but i shall give the rack another go before i throw it out the window.....i hope it is paying attention .............

Oh dear Nanny I know the feeling, we lost most of our crockery when the cupboard came down off the wall, that was a design fault too (the screws weren't long or strong enough).
Sounds like you had a wonderful day Bovey, I'll have a read of your blog. I've never tried tapestry weaving in but I've a book that shows you how. Not the same as doing it though is it.
Sounds like you're really cracking on with the house now Aqui, When do you plan to put it on the market? I'll look out the rhubarb chutney recipe, remind me if I forget!
Got some hoeing done after tea, still got piles to do, probably about half an acres worth!
Bed for me now, I'm working tomorrow, sleep well everyone.
