Saturday 5th July.Oh what a week! All our residents behaved whilst we were on holiday, now we are back they have decided to have some serious accidents.
Barrie and I were dealing with the pea mountain on Tuesday evening, when one of our ladies came over , she was very shaken. Two other residents had been for a drink at her flat, had gone downstairs, and had both fallen over! How we shall never know. Two ambulances, and seven paramedics later, both were shipped of to hospital.Jeff had broken his hip, and Margaret was out cold. Jeff,s hip has been done, but poor Margaret was kept in for 48 hrs , then sent home.On wednesday night at 2am, we had to call the ambulance for her again, she has a massive inter-cranial bleed, and has been sent to hospital in Bristol. Please say a prayer for her, she is very ill.
On a happier note, son no 1 has come home for the weekend, he is very happy with his new job, its as if a weight has been lifted from his shoulders.
The weather is miserable here today, too wet for the allotment, so we are doing indoor things. I,ve done some sewing for Jen, and have some socks on the go for me.
There are plans underfoot to build a chicken run at the allotment, our supply of good tasty eggs has dried up, and the so called < free range>eggs we had for breakfast, had no taste at all!

I've copied my mornings post over here as there were 2 threads for today.
Has everyone gone on holiday then!
I've been working this morning and E has gone off with her Mum for the weekend so I'm free to do what I want. I bought a couple of sideboards at the auction and I'm going to do some room rearranging, craft stuff. For all this is a big house I still haven't sorted out a proper space yet.
Hope you're all having a good weekend.
Oh dear Cookie, I'll include Margaret in my prayers. Chickens sounds exciting, any idea what kind?
I've done the craft room, a bit happier now that I have a dedicated space to work. The dogs have been out and I'm just off to start the dinner, chinese noodles, quick and easy. There's a glut of red peppers down the farm so plenty in the staff box for the taking.

Oh gosh Cookie, that all sounds dreadful, hoping for good recoveries.
So far today I've cleaned out the chooks, done abit of veg plot weeding and cut some lettuce, radish and rocket. Hung some washing out, brought it in, put it back out when it stopped raining.....then hung it back out again. Now its raining again
Blitzed the living room which was disgusting, even washed the skirting boards!!
Then gave the dogs a good long walk and Saphie was an absolute sweetheart both on and off lead. Some days she can do it, other days she is a monster
About time for a sit down with a cuppa then think about the rest of the day. I feel a little bit of quiet with my book is in order....

hi everybody
sorry i wasn't on duty yesterday but i was in such a foul temper that i would have been very bad company
we spent all day moving a horse that is nothing to do with the trust and even though we charged for the mileage etc, it just irked me that i didn't get a chance to do anything other than that.....made my blood boil i am afraid....
anyway i am feeling better about it all today
away to 2 venues with ponies....we did the scout thing at llandeilo and 4 of the girls did the carnival in llangadog......have to say both were disasters due to the weather....hardly anybody appeared at the scout thing in the wind and rain and we all ended up inside the scout hut for 2 or 3 hours .....i felt very sorrysfor the organisers who had spend months planning for a complete non event but i was also very glad that i hadn't been the organiser
the girls at the carnival braved the rain as well, the residents of the village virtually ignored them and it was all very cliquey she said ......this has put my dander up more than a bit so we are determined that we will break into their lives by attending absolutley everything we can get the ponies to ........
but hey ho, that's the way it all goes i suppose
made one or two more contacts amongst the council people attending the fete so it wasn't all a waste.......
