Smoke bags

Mrs Ratty came home today with some smoke bags. Have not seen these before but you put meat in them and cook in the oven. The meat is then smoked within the confines of the bag. Will be interested to see how it turns out. I have some venison hanging ready to be skinned and I might try a small chunk to see how good they are. Has anyone else tried them ???

Never even heard about them before, Ratters. Where did she buy them?
Kathy

Sounds like they'd be good for all sorts of food, I'd be interested to know more about them too.

Got them in tescos, they are in the tin foil, clingfilm area. The bags she got are alderwood and maple. You put fish or meat in the bag and put it in the oven or on the bbq. The cooking times are on the bag.
Will try them and report back

Those sound interesting - looking forward to the update.  We have a freezerful of venison (so does Nanny), so could experiment too . . .
