Sprouting seedsIs it necessary to buy packets of seeds that declare themselves "sprouting seeds"? They seem more expensive than normal seeds.
I have used jam jars and muslin for the last year but have just treated myself ( to a sprouter....£5. How bad am I! ). I must say it is great, so much quicker in the mornings before work. No messing about at all.
But can I use ordinary packets of seeds??

In a word, no, you don't need to use "sprouting seeds" Chickpeas, mung beans, alalfa, aduki beans, any beans or seeds will sprout. the first 4 make a nice mix, I've got some on the windowsill at the moment!
This site here gives the basics and all the types of stuff to sprout. http://www.primalseeds.org/sprouting.htm
