Marmalade or butter, or cheese? Very Happy
Cabbagepatch

I love making seville marmalade but didn't bother last year as nobody much eats it here and I gave most of it away.

What I have really really seriously wanted to make for as long as I can remember is cheese.  (especially goats cheese  Cool ).  Somerset Lad gave me his instructions on how to make a homemade cheesepress about three years ago and I still haven't tried it...
Libby

don't you need goats for this CP  Very Happy  Very Happy

Pilsbury

I would like to ry the soap making and shopping bag.

In the months leading up to the celebration when its cold ( its only january so there is NO WAY im mentioning the name) I want to try and make hampers so it could be a thing to build towards, the pickles for the day need to be made in sept, oct time, the chutney in july, aug, the soap needs to mature so that could be april, the chocolates in nov, the bag to put it al in can be done in june ect ect.
Aqui

Pilsbury - soap only needs about a month before you can use it.

Libby - I can organise the soap making bit if you like.

i had another idea - getting fit? anyone want to join me for an online exercise class? i need motivating!
Libby

Aqui by all means organise the soap making.

Online exercise mmmmm sounds interesting what/how should we do it?
browneyes

oh no dont say get fit,im to lazy but im not unhealthy,i can still run up stairs, sit down on my haunches, and jive thats enough for me.
Libby

I think the butter and cheese are sort of on going, thanks to Lloyd.

Aqui is in charge of the soap!

Marmalade should occur soonish, just waiting on the oranges, as soon as I see some I'll let you know!

Shopping Bags, well we can sew or knit these, I've knitted one before and have a pattern somewhere.

Then egg decorating, do we make our own then decorate or what? Is this boiling an egg then decorating, I'm not sure??
alison

Seville oranges have been in the shops a couple of weeks here.

They were £1.50 a kilo.

I buy 2 cases a time and from the whole saler they are £1 kilo.

I won't be doing it this year, as I still have enough from my last lot.  (that is a years worth for the B&B!)

Shocked Oh crumbs, are they?? I shall go and have a look when I get a car back. I know they are not in the shops for long!
Aqui

i have a pattern for crocheting a shopping bag
Libby

Well maybe we can have a Shopping Bag Make and it could be sewn, knitted or crocheted?
alison

I would like to do  a knitted / crochet bag out of split plastic bags.
Libby

I think I've seen a pattern for that too, somewhere on cybernet  Laughing

this is one I've made Very Happy
Aqui

browneyes - it's ok to do the same as someone else. At least i hope it is because i will be!
Libby

definately fine to do the same as someone else browneyes Very Happy  we all have our unique way of doing things so they usually turn out differently anyway  Laughing
Aqui

I've started a thread for the soap make in the soap forum if anyone else wants to join. It's dead easy - if you can follow a recipe, you can make soap!

I've also included stickies on essential equipment needed and very basic how to.
redwillowrose

I was going to make a shopping bag anyway, as Sophie dug out loads of old clothes, so I have quite a bit of fabric now.
Libby

I think its about time we did something again
Aqui

I know I've been a bit rubbish with the soap thing. I will rearrange it when I have a bit more time.
