Summer bulb swapSo a swap it is then.
We each buy a bulb, plant it up and watch it grow,,,,hopefully with pictures to keep our interest going. When it's in bloom we can do something arty farty with it  Photograph it, paint it, make paper and incorporate the petals in it, dry it and make a card/collage, andything that takes our fancy!! 
If you would like to take part put your name down, buy your bulb and send it to me. I'll do a random swap about then post a different one back to you.
Does that sound about right?

Sounds good, though if you waited a while to find out who wants to join in, then assigned an address to everyone to send the bulb straight to, it would save quite a bit on postage...

That would be great Haize. I was'nt too sure how long to leave it. Have thought of another twist to the swap....you had all better let me know what you think. What about at the end of the season we all swap what we have managed to make out of the bulb with the person that we swapped with in the first place? Does that make sense??? Probably not knowing me!!!! lol

that idea is fine with me so long as everyone understands that if I kill my bulb there possibly won't be something coming back their way although I'd probably make a little gift from something else

I'll be going to the free day at Rosemoor RHS gardens next weekend, so I'll get my bulb there. They have lovely things.

I was'nt quite sure when to set the posting date....I need help here!!!!! A secret would be good but I'm thinking that most people will know by the addresses.....am I right??

Okay so this stuff is a bit of a logistical nightmare.
You need to know obviously, names and addy's, and also have a cut off date and a posting date.
Secret works well, for the surprise factor, and no need to say overbearing thanks to any one individual.
Personal is also good, because you know who to thank.
When we did the last swop, we wrote two lists of names on opposite sides of the paper and then randomly drew lines between to match them up.

Here's my summer bulb.......it's a sprekelia. I think it's very beautiful. Will have a go at painting it later in the year
