Sunday 22nd JuneSorry I've been quiet this week, but I was asked to do some cakes for a wedding (a lass who helps out at Lluest Horse & Pony Trust). The baking seemed to develop a life all of its own and I have never been so glad in my life to deliver it all yesterday. I was absolutely horrified to find that instead of a table on the side with some cakes on it, there were long white-tableclothed tables and seating for about 250. Eeeeeeeeek! Substitute Posh Do for humble help-yourself table. Never again! The worry didn't end with getting it there as I have been worrying since that the guests thought my efforts amateurish. Ah well. It's over and done with now. I hope it went well.
Having worked myself to a frazzle and all but given up eating the past two days, I still had to take Maggie out for her half an hour's walk up the hill and back yesterday. She kept diving in the hedgerows and grabbing mouthfuls of leaves and I am glad to say that she was very on her toes, so the Laminitis was nipped in the bud. She is on Short Rations, but it will take a long while to lose all the blubber she had accumulated whilst on loan.
I had actually planned a lengthy lie-in today, but no . . . I woke at 3.30 a.m. for the loo and that was It for the rest of the night, though I did make myself stay in bed until 5 a.m., but then I had a tickly cough and got up to avoid waking OH, who was shattered after having driven up to Durham and back to collect G from Uni. It is lovely to have her back home and she cooked the evening meal last night, for which I was truly VERY grateful, even if it was just a sizzle and stir curry (it tasted like Manna from Heaven . . .)

You've been busy BB. Glad Maggie is on the road to recovery.
Samson needs more antibiotics. He is better but they do a score out of 12 and like the horse to be 1 -3. He was 7 the first time and now he is 5. I have heard that 2 other horses have had similar ailments from a contaminated batch of coarse mix at the same place where I bought mine. One is ruined. I have stopped feeding him that and got some more just in case. I am going to mention it to the vet.
They are growing the culture over the weekend to find the right antibiotic to cure it. I will get some more on Tuesday.
Have a good day everyone.

((((((HUGS))))) Aqui, take care of yourself today.
Have you been able to ride Samson Becki?
Say hello to G for me Bovey. If I wake up for the loo I never have a problem getting back to sleep, I'm not an early bird at all. Mr Kathy likes the early mornings though, loves to watch the sunrise.
So pleased to hear Maggie is recovering, we were talking about her this morning and making Plans!
It bucketed down all night so the garden got a good water, sun is starting to come out now. I've nothing urgent needing doing so I'll just see where the day takes me.
Happy Sunday everyone.

Up with the lark would have been nice to have a lie in, but hey ho!!! Done 2 loads of washing and hung them out as its blowing a hooly! Got to cook roast dinner, then I want to hunt out a sock knitting pattern as I feel the urge to take up the needles again! Might do a bit of pottering down the garden too!!!!

One of those days so far.
Up fairly early, getting stuck into the rooms etc.
Got the horses in and fed.
Forgot youngest was going to a party, but fortunately the mum rang me, as they were going out for the day, so I nipped him round there quick.
DD went riding, but came back fairly quickly, as it is very windy, and has since gone later.
Eldest has done his homework, and piano practice, and is watching TV
OH is watching grand prix
I am trying to clear about 10000 deleted emails from my delete box. There are so many in there, select all then delete crashes the system!
I have had 5 very boring forms to fill in, sitting on my desk for about a month, and I have so far done 3, and nearly the 4th. I am determined to post them tomorrow.
Swimming club later.

Been for a long walk along the river in the opposite direction we usually take hoping to find elderflowers to make cordial. Not enough worth picking but never mind, it was a lovely route to take and the dogs had fun in the shallows.
But, its blowing a gale out there even though its sunny. lloyd tried not to have a sense of humour failure when i innocently said i know a shortcut through the next two fields......it was like a jungle trek complete with weeping willow branches belting us over our heads in the wind. well, its not usually that overgrown and i wasn't to know now was I.
ok, having rested my back which is seizing up this weekend, its time to go clean out chooks, check the veg plot etc.
Oh yes, I read an article yesterday which said that full time office workers get less sunlight that coalminers
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday

bovey as i was there, i can assure you that your cakes went down extremely well...it was a village fete type thing and the guests were from all over and there were only 180 ipeople in the end.....your cakes were the afternoon tea and believe me there were plates of them broght into the hall.....
there weren't many left when i came away at just after 8 and the party was due to keep rolling till midnight
worry not my dear, it was all appreciated
so you can guess why i was awol last night...i got to the reception about 2.30 so was there quite a time.....by the time i got home and sorted things out, i went to bed....it is tiring being a party animal but at least i didn't have a hangover this morning like some surely did....as they go it was a good do......a punk band which wasn't to my taste but then nsome guy went up on stage and played the singing saw and we were all transfixed for 10 minutes or so......
so i was up and at 'em this norning again
made up the potassium hydroxide solution and put the deerskin in there this morning, have to leave it there 3 days then sort it out.....also started making the drop spindle which meant wandering round trying to find a bit of dowling in and out of barns then suddenly realised that ancient man (or woman) didn't worry about it so much and went and cut myself a bit of hazel to dry for it.....the didn't go to B and Q after all so why should i consider it....too windy to do much gardening today but i repotted som things and tied up my tomatoes and a few other bits and pieces while mr nanny finished greenhouse 2 for me all barr 2 bits of glass that were broken- always the way...he spent most of the rest of the day doing paper work so he didn't get a day off really but got loads done that had been hanging on ........
really windy all day though sunny and quite chill with it, i am back in flannel shirt and fleece now

It's been colder here too, although we have seen some bits of sunshine.
Singing saw sounds intriguing Nanny, how did that work then?
CP, Coco frequently takes me through "short cuts" that usually end up with me crawling on my hands and knees through the bracken.....................
I got some more sewing done, went to visit Merlin's breeder and then did a bit of my jigsaw. Too wet and windy for much else and I didn't feel like cleaning!
Off to bed now, hope you're all sleeping the sleep of the just.
