The CraftbusSome of you have asked what the Craftbus is, here is the explanation!
Up at the organic farm/cafe/shop where 3 of my offspring work and I make chutney and jam, there is an old lorry/ bus/broken down motorhome. It's very very old and I don't think theres an engine in it now. Bruce, who owns the place has 6 of a family, 5 daughters who are all very "arty/crafty". One of them had the idea to strip this old lorry out, refurbish it and use it for everyone to showcase their talents. Greenman will be selling framed photo's, there'll be felted goods, different types of paintings, I've done knitting and weaving items, and one of the lads is in a band so will be selling a CD they've made.
The place attracts the type of people who buy handmade, unique things so an excellent idea to run something like this occasionally. When not being used as a craftbus, one of Bruce's daughters is going to live in it. I'll get Greenman to take photos when he has a minute.

It wasn't ready yesterday. Anyway, it's supposed to be ready today so I'll go up they've finally got sorted! They all work very hard on the farm and I think they've found it hard timewise fitting it all in, fortunately it hasn't been advertised as being open on a certain date!

It's been on for a week and finished yesterday, sorry forgot to update here! I'll get some pics on when Greenman brings his camera over. I sold quite a few things so an unexpected bonus which will buy more craft related items.

Sounds fantastic, a treasure trove I would love to explore. In the meantime, have you let Greenman know the searchparty is on the prowl?

CP - will you behave yourself and put than club down you are scaring the poor lad.
Kathy- I had visions of a bus going around, and people getting on, doing a craft of some sort, and getting off when they had finished. With you and others as demonstrators - A Summer Holiday' bus, in Scottish Autumn and winter, touring the villales, lochs, and mountains, so you can look out the window asyou work, ring the bell when you have finished, and get dropped off either at a local beauty spot - with a tea room of course, or back where you got on.
I would be on it all day of course - or would maybe have to take my pj's as it takes so long to do something
But the other reason might be the home made bread, cakes, veggie lunches, jams, and chutneys you would sell and serve up.
Don't forget the sliced lemon for my hot water drinks will you. (but you might have to slip a bit of 'bleached white coffee' to give me a kick if you dizzy driving around
I should get up this early should I - my imagination runs riot!!!

It sounds like a brilliant place to have a wonder around. Where's the photos Kathy

It really is an old rusty lorry affair! Greenman took a few photos of my stuff arranged in the bus but I'll get him to take photos of the outside and post them.
I have located him and he'll be home tonight!
n, at the moment, it's for the people who work on the farm/cafe/shop to show/sell their wares, it's too small for much else.
I'm not sure when it'll be on again. It was very much a spur of the moment idea with no advertising done, hope I get more notice the next time though.

This is the outside, well I did tell you it was old and rusty!
This is part of the inside before the artwork was put on the walls, behind my wares.

It looks great, a lovely idea and so much nicer than all the usual commercial hoitey toitey c$*p we are exposed to. Hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but i really believe most of us are fed up with commercial commercial commercial shallow claptrap.
