The Last Day of June!

Well here we are heading rapidly towards July, where has the year gone? What have I been doing to make it pass so fast??

Another busy week on the cards, so much so I probably won't be blogging for a while!!!!!

Haircuts, coal delivery, plumber coming, visit to another Uni, clothes shopping, waxing (for the younger members of the family, I hasten to say)!!! and thats all before all the usual chores!!!

Anyway its bright and sunny currently!!! So always a good start to the week!!!

Kathy - did you get your knickers cleared out?! (what a way to start a monday!)

CP - never grow up!

Ali - weird day of mixed feelings it sounds like. Glad it all worked out well in the end.

Libby - Sounds exhausting!

We had a lovely weekend. Did most of the things on my list, but we were able to take it a bit easier. All still suffering with this bug though.

We've got to go to the dreaded tescos today. I want to set off early before it gets too hot (I make it sound like we're going on an expedition!)

And need to arrange viewing some houses on Saturday as we're going to have a look round our potential future home town hopefully!

Morning all  Very Happy

I spent most of the weekend decorating the seemingly never-ending house that my parents are moving into ... we've nearly finished the upstairs now, which leave the utility/back porch/downstairs loo to do and then we're done  Very Happy   I'm not going to be able to spend a lot of time there this week, but they're not moving until the middle of July so we should be able to finish it all for them before then.

I've been for a swim this morning - first time in 3 weeks - and am at my desk now.  This evening I'm going to visit a friend who's just come out of hospital after a car accident - I haven't heard the details yet but he says he's very happy to be alive and I do know he has a smashed collar bone, so it must have been very nasty.  I expect a bottle of wine will help his recovery  Very Happy

Have a great day everyone  Very Happy

nanny

hi everybody

i am afraid we lost gladys today

she wasn't right this morning so we took her to the vet who said she didn't think a recovery was on the cards so we did the right thing by poor old gladys....actually she wasn't old at all....so we lost her and the nine chicks

she had made her nest down behind the railway carriage and in the lee of the muck heap bays so was well tucked away but perhaps the noise of the chicks hatching attracted some predator or other, who knows

very sad

of course this leaves gidget on her own with stan who is nothing if not incredibly amourous...we have had to put a saddle on her as his claws are starting to get too  much for her and i will start looking for another hen turkey to give gidget a break.....too much love can kill a hen turkey...anybody know if there is such  a thing as turkey rescue?

will check the web in a minute....

other than that it was another busy day despite it being mr nanny's day off....saw the visitor first thing to arrange the return of the volunteers from the care home and how we deal with it all.....we will recieve a copy of the aims and objectives for each person and work to that with the support worker....they have to achieve something....fine, we can do that...

the truck went in for its MOT this morning and wonder of wonders it passed.....couldn't believe it.....nobody's car ever passes the MOT surely but ours did....we were both a bit flabberghasted

going to collect a sort of emergency pony tomorrow - will tell you about it after the event....wednesday is another visitor

can't find out when the llangadog carnival starts or indeed where......must be someone in the village who can tell me....wasn't even a contact number on the poster....tried at the post office and the man there was not completely helpful

"mrs jones is the one to contact.  but she'll be in work now.  or mrs richards but she'll be in work now as well."

"where would i find mrs jones?"

"on the common but she'll be in work now."

"i can ring her tonight.  do you have a number?"

"she lives in cefyn villa on the common."

"i'm sorry, i don't speak welsh, that would be C-E-F-Y-N villas would it."

"no V-I-L-L-A-S, villas."

"thank you"

he wrote down Tom Jones, Cefyn Villas

needless to say they aren't in the phone book

i shall soldier on.............
Kathy

Oh poor Gladys Nanny, such a shame. Hopefully, if you believe in that kind of thing, she'll be reunited with her chicks now.
So you are supposed to be doing something with the ponies at this carnival and you don't where it is or when it starts? Sounds like a good start then!

I got dragged off to Edinburgh first thing to help Coco with a home check, that took all morning, Edinburgh is a pretty busy place. Got home then had to go to another town to do the banking and E needed shoes. Oh joy, she's like her Mother, every bloomin shoe shop in town had to get visited and of course she wanted the shiny sparkly shoes that are no good to man nor beast.  Rolling Eyes

Got home just before 6, cooked dinner then Coco dragged me out again to walk the dogs. I've just finished folding the laundry and reckon I've earned a rest now!

By the way, there was a lot of sand in the shower tray........................
