Thursday 15th MayHow can it be the middle of May already ? Time flies....
It's chilly and dull here this morning but I'm stuck at my desk again so I don't really mind. No swimming this morning as there's too much to do here, but I might go this evening, if I can manage to get out of my armchair!
Have a great day everyone

Raining and a chilly 8C. Not complaining about the rain, but the chilly 8C . They said on the news yesterday that the temps would get back to normal for May! What is the normal temp for May????
I have decided I ought to stop sleeping, well going to bed actually as my back is sooooooooo bad every morning. I do excercises continually during the day and move around, that by the evening I feel quite normal but very tired!!!
Anyway managed with alot of help to more or less sort my garden out, its not as good as I would normally like it but its a dam sight better than it has been for the past year!!
My tomato plants are going, some even been nicked where I live as well
Housework today

If you can afford a new mattress Libby, we got a Memory Foam mattress (sprung base) from E-Bay to go with out new bed, and it is brilliant. Not only is it warmer than a conventional mattress in the winter, it does help if you have sore joints/back etc. Wouldn't go back to a conventional mattress now. SO comfy.

I want one Bovey!
Dull again here but ok for planting. I'm going to overhaul my sewing machines first, get them oiled. Just going to jump in the bath while the house is quiet, doesn't happen very often!
Have a good day everyone.

I have a tempur mattress, lovely and comfy, but I think everything tightens up over night and takes awhile to loosen up the next day!!!

I have one of those matresses. It's lovely.
House is looking very tidy as I havn't been able to ride for 3 days, so I'm off to hoover upstairs and do the kitchen.
Then Mark will come home and it will be a disaster area again

Afternoon ladies, it's a bit chilly here too down to single figures! No plotting for me! Still the rain has made my sweet corn grown at least an inch!

what happened to the summertime then?
dull and decidedly chilly here with drizzley rain for a lot of the day
none the less i did my last veg plot and some more edging along with some 'pooter work
mr nanny went and did a trim and then put loads more galss in the greenhouse, there is only the skylights and the doors to do now....nearly there and the second one will be much easier for him to do
walked the dogs and then decided that perhaps soup is a better idea than a barbecue today so chicken and veg soup with home made bread for dinner followed by whiskey and m and m's
now watching a dvd of river dance to make the evening complete

I had soup for lunch yesterday Nanny - using your recipe with the barley. Yummy and just what I needed - definitely chilly outside yesterday. I gave myself a break from the garden. I had bad news from the lass who has Maggie on loan. She has split up with her boyfriend, and is moving away, so Maggie is being returned. So much for the Forever Home . . . Gives me a big headache, but I am sure I will manage. I was SO down over this that I did the ironing mountain and now have an empty ironing basket for the first time since the Flood. I even took a photo of it to remind me it can be done . . .
