Thursday 17th Sept!

Glorious day very cold and sunny!!! Quite breezy too so will be hanging the washing out in a mo!!

Been to the dentist for a check up all OK.

The bad thing is I think I have lost my engagement ring, I haven't worn it since before the op and I usually put it on when I go out then take it off at night. I can't find it anywhere, I am mortified, it is the most beautiful dark amethyst stone. Hubby got it from Hatton Garden  Sad

Thinking of you today Lizzie

Morning all  Very Happy

Oh Libby, I hope your ring shows up soon.  I'm lucky (?) in that I've put on so much weight since we got married that I can't get my engagement or wedding ring off!  This is the every-cloud-has-a-silver-lining department speaking!

Well the insolvency person is here, secreted away in the meeting room with lots of papers and figures ... I guess we'll know what's what by the end of the day.  It's so frustrating, I can't imagine how our bosses are feeling  Shocked

It's a lovely day here - I've dropped my car off for some repairs (thank you so much, whoever it was that scraped my car in the supermarket car park and didn't 'fess up  Evil or Very Mad ) and been to the doctors and then I walked almost all the way to the office (a mile and a half) then one of the chaps happened to be late in and picked me up about 200 yards from the door  Laughing

Have a great day everyone  Very Happy
nanny-now and forever

hope the ring turns up libby, i hate losing things like that, they mean so much to you

after the busy days we have had lately, today was a welcome relief, only mr nanny and myself here ....i decided to get the goats and sheep in for worming, sounds easy but the balwen sheep are virtually wild and jump out of anything...they followed the two boys into the barn andinto the stable but a couple jumped out and ended up making a break for it into the barn field...so that meant a whole lot of work...

put dogs in house

close front barn door

shut spangle and foal into square paddock, to keep them out of horse walk

open gate to horse walk and gate to barn field

herd 5 horses out of barn field and into horse walk..ok, they won't herd so go and fetch 5 horses out of barn field

put tumble into barn so she doesn't get in the way as she is wandering the yard due to injury

open all necessary gates

get sheep out of barn via back entrance and into barn field to hopefully pick up the two escapees

spend 20 minutes or so trying to get the whole lot out of barn field by rattling bucket that suddenly they aren't interested in

finally gently herd all 7 sheep out of barn field and into the area at the end of the barn

use husband to help get them through barn and out the other end, they suddenly realise that there is a field available to them that they recognise and high tail it

herd them through gate, don't lose any on the way, they take off at a rate of knots through front paddock, through middle paddock and then can't work out why they can't get into their field, this is because i haven't opened that gate because there are also 3 horses in there

consider leaving animals in middle paddock but as they are getting edgy, open gate to their field hoping against hope that the horses won't come charging through

sheep suddenly don't know if they want to go into their field after all and move away from gate, horses look interested

gently herd sheep into their field just as horses start to walk up field towards me, slam gate just in time

retrace steps, closing all necessary gates

let tumble out of stable before she decides to jump out

move horses out of horse walk and back into the barn field, well one by one as they decided thy liked the horse walk after all and didn't want to go back

open gate for spangle and foal

go to loo but forget that i have haven't closed the gate in the front of the house so when i go back out front the dogs are wandering thither and yon , collect same

Laughing  Laughing Nanny, livestock are such fun aren't they!

Libby hope you find your ring. Lizzie, hope it doesn't cost too much for repairs.

Was out first thing collecting meat, then onto friends horses where Coco and I did some tidying up of manes and tails. Quite a few dreadlocks there but all spick and span now! Then it was onto visit Father and continuing to see some pups, labradoodles (mongrels by any other name!). Lovely wee things but all pups are aren't they. After that it was collect E from school then finally home. Home day tomorrow thanks goodness, apart from picking E up.
Just away to play some stupid game on Facebook now...................
