Toilets and Bathrooms

Hello one and all.

Although I am really busy I didn't want all your good work sliding Laughing Laughing Laughing

Back to basics for a couple of weeks then.

Bathrooms/toilets.

Starting with the bath, squirt with cleaner and give it a good wipe out. If there is built up gunge on there, use one of those body buffer things, and a wipe of soap or a squirt of cleaner. Wipe it all off with a dry damp cloth, and buff up.

Now do the same with the sink.

Finally the loo. First of all wipe the top of the systern, then the pedastal on the outside, where any little spills may be lurking, then wipe the u bend pipe. Finally lift the seat and lid, and have a good swish round with the brush, to wipe off any stains, and wipe the bowl above water level, the bottem of the seat, put the seat down and do the top of the seat, then the bottem of the lid, then finally replace the lid and do the bit of porcelain at the back near the hinges.

At this stage I usually drop a cleaner tablet in the systern, to help it stay cleaner for longer.

If you have stubbon stains I have been testing out various cleaners and the Lakeland plastics toilet tablets are definately the best. Drop one in over night, and the bowl is spotless in the morning. Really good if you have limescale.

This should take no longer than 10 - 15 mins for a full bathroom.

*grumble grumble*

I'm off to clean the pub toilets.........
Aqui

oh no no no - the bathroom is for T to clean. Anyway he makes most of the mess in the toilet, so he should clean it up. eeeewwwww. (Yes, I'm spoilt!)
nanny-now and forever

it's official then allison

you are indeed a slave driver, it wasn't just ugly rumour.....

ok,ok

i shall have a go at the loo tomorrow....the builder didn't leave too much of a mess and he isn't back till monday anyway.....
Leonie2

our bathroom and cloakroom is shortly due to be ripped out and replaced so does that excuse me from a thorough clean? bet it doesn't Laughing

through my testing, I've found that vinegar and a good scrub is the best for getting rid of limescale build up which anchors all the subborn dirt and stains in the toilet pan.

Leonie

I had one toilet that I just couldn't get clean, and this stuff from lakeland worked a treat. I normally do the vinegar one. I wouldn't bother with coke, it is messy and doesn't work that well.

I cleaned 7 bathrooms on Friday ! some of the houses we clean have 3 !
my way of cleaning them is to put the toilet cleaner down first, then spray the basin and bath, and the shower doors if there are any, then clean the mirror, then the basin, the bath and lastly the toilet, then the skirten boards and the door and frame. we have to do this in every bathroom.
alison

I never think about showers as we only have baths in the house

RWR, what cleaner do you use?
Cabbagepatch

Alison, we arrived home to a clean house; even the bathroom was sparkling Very Happy

Must go away more often!

we use something called Orange Squirt, but I take my micro fibre cloths with me for the mirrors.

I`ve actually been in my own bathroom all the morning, it was dreadful !
alison

Ha ha, I know what you mean.

I do 4 showers, and 10 toilets for the campers, then 6 full en suites for the B&B everyday. By the time I get back into the house I have lost interest. Mine is looking shocking, but all the others are done, as we have had visitors for the last few days, so had to keep them pristine.
Jojo

I think cleaning the cooker and the bathroom are my two most hated jobs in housekeeping Sad
alison

If you swish and swipe the bathroom everyday it takes less than a minute, and doesn't become a chore when the scrubbers need to be employed.
redwillowrose

oh dear, I was the scrubber employed in my house today then , HAHA.
It looks very clean now though. The bathrooms I clean when I`m at work, only get done when I do them ! the people who own them NEVER clean them ! its a nightmare.
Kathy

Mine were done yesterday. Very Happy
alison

RWR

You and me both Very Happy
redwillowrose

Very Happy
