I have just started knitting a blanket for my son's partner for next christmas. Do you think I am a bit too eager?
I am using that wool that everyone is making scarves out of. I have 300 stitches on a 4mm circular needle.
I think its going to be a long job

I think with things that take a while to make, the earlier you start the better! You'd be going frantic if you left it until October! We will expect a photo of the finished blanket of course.

I can't believe you have mentioned the C word when its only February. Having said that, I got a flyer in January recommending that we book our Christmas party early to guarantee that we got the date we wanted (!) and then at the cinema last night they were advertising the next Star Trek film ... due date? Boxing Day !!!!
There was a week in January when Valentine, Mothers Day and Easter cards / gifts were all on display together in Sainsburys
sigh ... if you can't beat 'em !

I know someone who's started knitting a snowman tree decoration!
Not to early for a blanket CJ, they do take a long time!
