The Expert books and Geoff Hamilton's organic gardening are the ones I always refer to when I need help. I like Delias kitchen garden and Monty Don's book for inspiration.

Did you see GW on Friday?
There was a piece on Barnsdale, which is now run by his son and his (son's) wife. They entered a garden for GW Live, and won a Gold.
It was the first time they had done a garden and ten years since Geoff Hamilton died. I was so pleased for him. It was as if he was getting recognition for being himself, not "son of..."
Must be very odd for him because Geoff was an identical twin, so everytime he sees his uncle it will be a reminder of what his dad would have looked like if he had still been here. Very hard, I would think.

I really like the HDRA Encyclopedia of organic gardening. Not strictly veg, but it's got a huge veg section in it. I always refer to that before anything else.
Oh - you've spoilt it now. I always tape GW, as Mr Aqui doesn't enjoy watching it, and then I watch it on Wednesdays, when I'm by myself. Now the surprise is spoilt.
