Morning all  Very Happy

Nanny, I hope Gypsy is feeling better this morning - what a day you had (again!).

Well Penny seems to have perked up today.  I spoke to the vet yesterday and the best he can say is that she doesn't have leukaemia.  As to what the problem actually is, he's no further forward.  He's suggested referring her to the veterinary medical school in Edinburgh for further investigations but that's *really* expensive (like 4 figure expensive...) so I think we'll leave her for now and see how she goes.  She's certainly happier than yesterday (duffing up Millie, charging around the fields this morning etc. etc.) and cooler.

It's dull and damp here again today, but not cold at all so it could be worse.  I have a disaster to avert at work today - hope I'm successful!

Have a great day everyone  Very Happy

Morning.  Smile

Lizzie, a friend of ours had similar sounding problems to Penny, they spent over £1000 trying to get to the cause and never did. I suggested ground linseed in her food because I'd had good results myself and heard of many others the same. Callie was 4 at the time and is now 15, anytime she's been "under the weather" she gets a couple of tblsp of ground linseed in her food and it always does he trick. Holland and Barret sell it and you'd need a wee grinder as well.  One thing that did stand out was her first "funny turn" coincided with her Frontline dose and future "turns" always happened when she got Frontline. Friend didn't believe it could have been that because the vet said it was safe however, I've read lots of anecdotal evidence to the contrary. Anyway, hope she recovers quickly, is she still ear washing BTW?

Lovely day here, lots of work done and to do. Started the day with a pile of poo in Merlin's crate. He's a bit upset with Rosie being in season, she's getting spayed as soon as I can afford it! Cleaning that lot up before I'd had my tea didn't do much for my mood and put me right off my breakfast!  Laughing

That's very interesting Kathy - I'll see if I can get some in our local health food shop.  I guess it can't do her any harm even if it doesn't help...

She has "severe" ulceration on her soft palate, according to the vet, but we don't know what's causing it.  She hasn't been frontlined for months  Embarassed  so it's not that...could be a foreign body, could be a tumour of some sort, there's just no knowing without some *very* expensive investigations.  I'm not reluctant to do that because I don't love her - her predecessor Megan cost us over £1000 at the vets and she still died when she was just 5, so I really don't want a repeat of that!

And yes, I'm afraid she is still ear-washing and for the small people, it's often a complete face-wash (they find it more difficult to get out of her way  Laughing )

Faith in people has been restored.......well some anyway.

We went to a local laundry yesterday and came away with two big blue barrels to usea as water butts for school with the promise of another 6. The local tree surgeon has delivered us a truck load of bark chippings and free cycle has come up trumps with some one offering us strawberry runners.

We have still got alot of work to do but the school allotment plots are taking shape. We have been donated a load of scaffolding boards we just need to cut them up and nail them together now.

The girls both ran in their first cross country events yesterday to be cheered on by their cousin from Hungerford a fantastic surprise.

A trip to the beach planned for after school then tea for 8.
