Weds 18th June

Lots been going on here since my last visit,

hope the house selling goes well Aqui, sounds good about Samson, Becki so fingers crossed. how lovely nannie, to live in a place with wild orchids nearby!

Well BF number 2 is here, he's quite quiet and suffers with the most horrendous hayfever I have ever seen in anyone, now he's got to know us hes fine, he may not be my choice but he suits K!

I'm fed up with the cold weather too, was it my imagination or did we as children used to have long hot summers??? If so what happened to them, I mean with all this global warming shouldn't it be getting warmer???
Aqui

Becki - glad Samson's feeling better.

Nanny - sounds gorgeous - can't wait to see the photos.

Libby - good news about the bf!

After yesterday's excitement I went to bed in a grump as worry started to set in... I'm scared. I don't like doijng things I've never done before! And especially at the moment with the housing market how it is. Well at least it'll make me keep the place clean and tidy. i'll just have to remember not to stress about it.

And breeeeaaaaaath...

Eldest 9th birthday here, needless to say we have been up a while.
Will be back later
Kathy

Happy birthday to TGM's 9 yr old, don't they grow up fast.

I think Nanny knows some good moving house mantras Aqui!

Glad the visit seems to be going ok Libby, shame about the hayfever.

It's a beautiful morning and the children's midsummer celebration is outside, E is a fairy, bless her!

Need to go and make another cake, have a good day everyone.  Smile

Back from mum and baby group. feeling a lot better after a good natter!

Popped in on the estate agent (it's just round the corner) and have bitten the bullet and said we will be going on the market (hate that phrase!) on monday. I keep feeling like we'll never get the flat ready, and being as I will put off and put off and.... because I'm scared, we've just got to dive in.

Got a few things to do first:
re clean the windows inside
clean the bathroom and bedroom mirrors
put away the last bits of clutter
paint the room of chaos ceiling
tidy up the garden a bit more

shouldn't take that long! (sorry, thinking out loud!)

Aqui aka Mrs Procrastination!

I have been baking all day today (Nanny knows why!)  Certain stuff has to wait until the last moment though (e.g. Friday).

Maggie and I got soaked when I led her out for 15 mins this morning - she was feeling very full of herself and prancing along!  Then it dried up for most of the day but now raining again and we just had a squall with quite a wind too.

I've had a quick bath and intend to relax this evening.  I was so shattered yesterday I was in bed before 8.30 p.m. and asleep about 5 minutes later!

Aqui - good luck with your house sale, fingers crossed for you.  If it's a flat/maisonette you have, I would think there are always young couples looking for something like that when they first set up home.  Goodness knows how long I would have to spend getting THIS place up together before we invited estate agents round.  Doesn't bear thinking about really!  Nor does our "last night" here with everything packed except for requisite mattress(es), kettle, teabags and mugs!  I am looking forward to house-hunting though : )

Becki - glad Samson sounds as if he is on the mend again.  Perhaps he got an infection from some spores in dusty hay at his old place or something?

Nanny - hope you get your batteries sorted out - you will have to show me which way to explore next time I'm over (only not on Saturday dear, please - I shall be worn to a frazzle by then!)

Kathy - what a lovely idea for E and friends, the Midsummer Celebration and E all decked out at the Midsummer Fairy!  Are you familiar with the Flower Fairy books?  I used to read them over and over to my girls when they were little and we treasure them still.  We had several of the beautifully illustrated Brambley Hedge Books too which are also still with us.

Libby - sounds like the young man needs to get some treatment for the hayfever - no need to suffer like that.  I remember long hot summers too . . . in fact, I don't EVER remember it raining except for one rainy Saturday when we went riding and I was on a fleatbitten grey mare called Twilight . . .

TGM - I hope the birthday celebrations went well.  Gosh, 9, I can remember mine being 9 too . . .
nanny

now acqui i want you to assume the lotus position and chant the mantra with you hands in the air....

ready

oooooooooouuuuuuuuummmmmmm.................

worked for me, sold in 4 weeks and moved in 6 but my god did i sweat right up to the day we moved

ah yes bovey....we are up to the site on friday with 15 bales of straw, 4 gazebos and a laminator so may see you there?  we will be there saturday evening so will watch out for your cakes....

the path i took yesterday is a proper bridlepath that the founder of this place used for her trekking ponies and to go up on the mountain to check the mountain ponies so plenty of precedent set there

wouldn't have done it today however as it has been blowing a houli up here all day and rained for most of it as well...very gloomy out there now and the wind is blowing the rain sideways

no gardening for me but i did do a bit on my first deerskin, it has been in the freezer for about 2 years and the hair is starting to come off but it is a good esxperiment to see if the scraper works and also i can use it as my first attempt at buckskin as you have to take the hair and grain off anyway

as the donkeys were in and millie was clipped off a week or so ago, mr nanny decided that it was time to saddle up again and see what the score was....he had had to buy a second cinch for the western saddle and we also had a one ear bridle and split reins so she got the whole shooting match as they say....took it well by the way as i secretly knew she would

her front end is 14h1 and her back end is 14h2 so even at the age of 8, she appears to still be growing....scarey really isn't it?

supposed to be better weather tomorrow, couldn't be much worse
