I found a marmite love/hate site earlier on the net but i found i couldnt see what it was all about without joining up first that,s a little strange isn,t it most sites i have visited tend to allow guests to peruse before joining and usually welcome guests ???????
mogs

was it a site or forum?

i can understand a forum being private or members only.
there are some real crackpots out there, who take delight in damning people and being abusive, that to screen potential members is a good way to go, although even the best screening cannot be 100% fool proof.

i am on lots of forums, that you have to have approval, or be recommended by another member before you can join, and it is a nice feeling knowing that.....there is a feeling of solitarity and security, although none of us let our guard down.

but i agree, it does seem a bit strange that a ' marmite ' forum would not be a public one.
danndans

I spose you either love having the security of a decent forum, trying to keep the crackpots at bay, or you hate not being able to go in were you like as you like. I'm sure the majority of forums are very easy going places to be, even if you do have to join before being able to do anything. but you have to bare in mind there are some pretty wierd crackpots out there in this day and age, wich are better off kept off any forum.

just like Marmite realy.....................you either Love it or Hate it  Very Happy
