What about a shed-warming?Anyone up for a shed-warming in a week or so when we have settled in?
We should all bring a dish to share (of the culinary variety, naturally ).
And perhaps a gift for the community.
And say what you will be wearing (so that no-one feels under or over-dressed).
I will wear my new pink socks, which will be finished by then.
I am off to plan the rest of my outfit... well surely no-one thought I was coming just wearing socks?!!

possibly a tad stronger than my own kathy
together we will make a cracking pair
what about coco and greenlady?
last seen with foal at foot?
are they joining us at all
and how is green man by the way
conspicuous by his absence

im here, im here, just got a lot of irons on the fire at the moment *dissapears into a puff of smoke*
nanny-now and forever
ah
well done
it's rare enough for a man to pick up an iron let alone know how to use it
Leonie2
Nice to see you again greenman
greenman331
ive been doing my own ironing since I was 7, my mother says she taught me well, *cough cough slave driver cough cough*
Kathy
Slight exaggeration, I taught them all as soon as they were old enough not to burn holes in clothes, or themselves. I'm a great believer in nurturing independence!
nanny-now and forever
i cannot believe that your mother, that sainted person, kind to children and dumb animals, would ever have been so horrible as to make you do your own ironing
well done kathy
Kathy
Leonie2
gosh S is 7 now, better get that iron out tomorrow and start teaching him
n
I think I will bring elderberry wine, to go with the pink socks.
n
Leonie2
very co-ordinated n
n
One has to make an effort, doesn't one?
n

Becki
I won't be able to make a friday - but it does sound like fun

Cabbagepatch

Shed warming a fab idea. Can't comment about my little ones' ability to iron tho
Leonie2
Well if Becki can't make a Friday and Nanny can only make a Friday, then....here it comes, perfect excuse, why not a shed warming weekend! a long one at that, friday to sunday, and everyone can come back on monday morning too, to help tidy up.
Becki
Nice idea
I'll get the beers in then
n
Only you, A, would think of that great idea.
Now will I need a change of outfit?

But sheds are for blokes!.....................
nanny-now and forever
i have a shed lloyd - it used to be the wash house
in my shed is
my washer
my dryer
my freezer
dog food
cat food
painting decorating equipment
recyclables
a butler's sink
kindling and a bucket of coke for the fire
it is well organised and i DO NOT like it to get messed up by mr nanny dumping his stuff in there.......
smae thing as a guy shed only female orientated
GreenLady

A shed warming is good! I will be wearing eau de foal poo and I suspect coco will be sporting the same natty fragrance, my outfit will probably be made entirely of scotchguard to repel any animal waste matter as I'm sure we will be called out mid proceedings to deal with a bumptious young foal. As for the day, i dont mind. I'll leave the food to mum...

Becki

Something not too fattening After riding that poor thing last week, it's kicked me back into my diet
Becki
So is it next weekend then?
Leonie2
I'm okay for this weekend, but what about D, isn't it her 50th this weekend? We could do next weekend or another time if that's better
Becki
The following one would probably be better then
Leonie2
Maybe Lloyd will be back with us by then too
lloyd
I'm back, but still feel that ladies have no place in a man's shed.............
Leonie2
Lloyd I think you'll find it's no longer a meagre shed, with us ladies involved it's transformed into a huge barn with all the crafting trappings a girl could wish for
Okay, so is everyone okay for a shed warming this weekend? If we spread it over a couple of days with everyone popping in whenever they want to. Do we want a theme for our party? And the important bit, who's bringing what to eat and drink? Oooooh, and what to wear, let's get our avatars into a party mood! And we need to decorate our shed, who's in charge of decorating, any volunteers?
Cabbagepatch
ooh please may i do the decorating?
i think garlands of honeysuckle, ivy, jasmine and roses festooning the ceiling and doorway, lavender and herbs strewn upon the floor and for the evening lots of twinkly nightlights. (forget the fire hazard).
No tacky paper streamers and balloons in this Potting Shed
Leonie2
Ooooh that sounds lovely, I can almost smell it from here, lovely
nanny-now and forever
i will try and pop in between coats of paint .....will it be in the land of no football or tennis or grand prix motor racing?
that would be wonderful.............
lloyd
Football Shmootball!! .....If thats on, I'll have to turnoff the power to the shed and get my Red Dragon flag out!!
Kathy
I'll come if Jellycat brings some apple trifle and n brings some pumpkin chutney. Now I know we said no tennis but seein as how Andre Agassi has retired can he come (pretty please). Oh, and I know some people will want Johnny Depp. Now what shall I wear..........................
lloyd
I'll make the bread?
Kathy
Yes please!
Leonie2
Jellycat must bring that trifle.....forget Johnny and Andre, I'll be happy with a bowl of trifle
Becki
I'll bring lemon cheesecake

Leonie, thank goodness you are here, this party is falling into disrepair, and so early in the evening
would you like a drink???

I'm just going to change into something more suitable and more flattering to my derrier
