What is your favourite time of year?Inspired by Fish's Autumn, What is your favourite time of year and why?
Mine has to be summer because of the light days and sunshine. (If we get any) Sunshine always lifts my spirits

Spring, because the evenings start lengthening after the inevitably long and wet winter

Autumn, because it is so colourful and somehow it brings excitement and the anticipation of winter, festive season, comfort food, cosy evenings staying in at home. I love the weather too, crisp mornings with blue skies and I enjoy those windy autumn days. I love walking at this time of the year, the kids and I enjoy finding and collecting the "treasures" that have fallen from the trees (seed pods, acorn "hats", colourful leaves etc.)

I love the autumn too, and for the same reasons as the rest of you. It is such an atmospheric time of year. Having said that, as I get older, it is spring which I find so uplifting. After a long - inevitably WET - winter, I am always so glad to see the first tiny stirrings of life along the hedgerows in January, and take great pleasure in the first spring flowers and leaves on the trees. My favourite month of all is May - it is just SO beautiful with the Welsh woodland carpeted with bluebells, and the hedgerows a riot of Red Campion, white Stitchwort, Bluebells, Cow Parsley and locally we are very fortunate to have masses of wild Columbine starring the lanes.

I love spring because of watching all the new growth in the garden and the days getting longer and warmer.
And I love summer because of long hot lazy summer days.
And I love autumn because of the crisp days and the wonderful colours.
And I love winter for snuggling up in cosy jumpers and drinking tea.
Can't decide!

I have been outside for a bit this summer, on the allotment, I hope to do more next year, a summer job and settling in here got in the way of doing anymore really. I hope to get a horse soon, so that will get me out more.

we are outside for most of the daylight hours irrespective of the weather
we have certainly marked the seasons more this year....before we spent so much time in the office that the weather didn't affect you so much
it is nice to dress according to the weather and move a bit more in tune with the seasons.....much more natural way to live.....youfeel the cold less and we feel much healithier because we are active most of the time....

I'm like Nanny - outside much of the time, irrespective of weather. We have horses, and I have my veg plot and garden, and I am a real country person - Iprefer to be outside and in touch with the seasons. I used to feel half dead when I had to work in an office all week long - I lived for the weekends. We have been living in deepest rural Wales for nearly 20 years now, and whilst we lived in the country in Dorset, this is a lot more rural. I feel I have my finger on the pulse of country rhythms. Gossip especially . . .

I also love the spring. The cold weather is behind us, the bulbs are all springing up, and the days are hopefully getting a bit longer. The summer is also ahead.

I love spring and autumn....not too hot or cold. New beginnings in spring and harvest in autumn.
I also like winter, providing we have dry snow, not orrid slush
Summer is fine as long as I can find some shade

I used to love the late spring in the UK and really hate the winter but now I am here I really dont know. Once I have been here for a year I will be able to decide but as for now I enjoyed the summer as I retired at the end of May from working 9 - 5 in an office in the middle of Manchester and moved here in early June so had loads to do with moving etc., and found I could not do really any gardening as it was too hot. The novelty of pleasing myself and doing nothing took a long time to wear off. I had loads of visitors during the summer which was nice and spent a lot of time at the beach. Now that Autumn and winter is upon us I have been able to do loads in the garden and have loved every minute of it. I think I may be like Aqui and cannot make up my mind.

I love the Spring as hopefully the cold weather will be behind us
and all the plants will start coming to life. I love it most when the
leaves start opening on the trees and they are a really light shade
of green
