Money no object? Well, apart from the obvious around the world trip, no expenses spared, then I would like to take my very own Arab (he would love the holiday) and ride through the narrow canyon into Petra and explore . . .

The puss-cat is Lucky, who came to us as a stray. She only has half a tail, bless her. She gave us two daughters - Fluff and Lucy, who are still with us. . . . . . and we do have Other Cats too!

Ashokan dam in America...
|
Libby
|
Thats interesting, why?

About 4 years ago the director of music at my concert band brought in a piece of music that he had arranged for us called Ashokan Farewell written by Jay Unger. It is a fabulous piece of music, probably one of the most moving, haunting pieces I have ever heard.
When I got home I did a bit of research about it & it was written when Ashokan dam had been built & the valley was flooding over the beautiful landscape where the person used to go in his earlier life...
A couple of years ago Flute (my 14 y.o. daughter) had to do a Geography project on how man has affected the environment & for some reason Ashokan Dam cropped up in conversation any way she ended up doing a project comparing Ashokan dam to the Three Gorges dam in China.
It was all her own work & I believe the teachers considered that it was one of the best projects they had ever seen at the school, & I am certain that it was if a standard that could easily have been handed in for G.C.S.E. or higher...
But having seen her research, we learned so much about it & seeing how much she enjoyed doing it I would love to take her one day so that we can experience it for ourselves...Knowing the real tragic story behind it...
Sorry about that but there was no way of shortening it

Don't be sorry, that was really interesting, thank you for sharing that with us
