Wooden Sawhorse

I'm planning to make one today, for sawing firewood, so nothing fancy. Has anyone made one before?

I have a design in the Smallholders DIY book, but it looks cumbersome. If anyone can give me a steer it would help. Very Happy

I shall try and describe our one.

Make 2 cross pieces with a bolt in the middle to fix.

each cross then has a leg support, near the bottem, fixed to give the right angle to hold the wood on the opposite end.

both pieces are then joined with some more support wood just below each cross and above each cross (4 bits) one on each side.

Finally an old leather belt is screwed in place, to strap round wood so it doesn't shift.

also drill 4 or 5 half inch holes along the top piece about 1. 1/2 inches from the sides of the top spar ./then you can drop some 5 inch x 1/2 inch bolts in to puch awkward wood against , werks for me , and wx 3 for the legs and end and 5 by 2 for the top bar , make it in light wood for wieght and use coach bolts to put it together . Wink recycled heavy pallets make great ones
