I rode a lovely little thing called Heidi today. Very small for me. I don't think she can be any more than 15hh. They are struggling to accomodate 'larger' people because my boy is lame again and they have another big horse off with ligament trouble.
I was a bit worried I'd squash her but I know they wouldn't have let me ride her if I was too heavy. They thought i would be good for her because I am a forward thinking rider whatever that means
I did think she was sweet, if not a bit lazy, which is why they wanted me to ride her I think, but definately too small. I was quite pleased though, that they thought I was light enough
She spooked at a pole at one point and tanked off down the other end of the school, which i have to admit, I found highly amusing.
Very comfy ride, like sitting in a armchair and I was confident that I wasn't coming off. Did alot of work without stirrups and she was comfy for that! _________________ The Card Bee

She sounds like a lovely horse I haven't been riding for weeks. J will start riding lessons when she turns 5 in July, she can't wait. Once they're back to school in sept I plan to start riding again. The stables where J will ride are cheaper for lessons so I'll start riding there. £28 per half hour was getting a tad expensive! but they were good lessons and it's got my confidence back. |

My youngest went to Junior Jockeys today, and then has been round at the stables all day, along with his sister, helping out.
They came in at 6.00 for tea! |

£28? I pay less than that for an hour.
Had a good lesson yesterday - I rode little D (he's about 13.2hh and about as wide!) He's a little monster usually, but I must've sorted him out early on as he was so good! He normally stops when you ask him to trot and turns around to hide behind the others when he's at the front. But he went forward from a squeeze and I kept having to slow him in trot so we didn't run over the horse in front! (Mr Aqui's long legged horse!) Did some canter without stirrups and I didn't even feel the need to hold on (He's comfy, but normally I'm a wimp). Most please I was.
But then got home and must've worked so hard as I couldn't do anything for the rest of the day! |

| £28 is expensive but if you found the lessons helped you regain your confident then it was surely worth it. I'm going to be having classical riding lessons at some point, if I ever get round to it, not had a lesson for a long time! Just messing around with the foalies at the moment, tidied up Jesse who I will break in at some point soon, I just dont have enough hours in the day |

I am off riding shortly. We went cross country last week and it was fun!
My horse refused a couple of jumps but I stayed on and got him over through sheer determination I think!
After he did the last one he tanked off up the field. I tried to stop him but he was too strong so I decided to sit back and enjoy it and think about stopping later _________________ The Card Bee
