I will probably think of another one later but I really liked The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan _________________ www.beadgarden.co.uk |

Beadgarden - I'm rather intrigued by that as my sister was after a copy. It does sound interesting - might have to read it myself! _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!

yes it is nanny. It is the diary she kept before, during and after the 1st world war and which she used to write Testament of Youth.
A fascinating woman. |

Hi Aqui,
The Joy Luck Club is good, I saw the film first and loved it and then read the book which is very slightly different as it has a more detailed storyline.
Amy Tan also wrote a book called The Kitchen God's Wife, which I tried to read and gave up after about 3 chapters, then I picked it up again a few months later and read it all and loved it.
Its not a good idea to read her books if you are at all depressed as they are a bit sad at times. They are mostly based on mother and daughter relationships and about women who moved from China to America. _________________ www.beadgarden.co.uk |
