Poor little Jack has very dry skin, possibly eczema (sp?) in places. a patch of dry flaky skin that looks like salt has dried on it is slowly making it's way around his head. it started on his ears and as soon as that cleared up his scalp was very dry. it's now on his eyebrows. i've been applying my thick olive oil moisturiser to that which works a treat. (haven't put it on his hair).

the rest of his skin is dry, but no where near as bad. that gets covered in almond oil lotion after baths.

He doesn't seem to be irritated by it.

both t and i have dry skin, although neither of us has had eczema.

Should I see doc/health visitor about it?

It's always best to see a qualified practitioner (whether "conventional" or "alternative") so you can get a proper diagnosis. If you get prescribed any "nasties" you can always look for an alternative as you'll know what the problem is then. Smile

Certainly ask the doctor about it but it sounds as though you are dealing with it without using anything stronger.

Aqueous cream. You can use it as soap in the bath too. Perfectly harmless.

aqueous cream made it worse for my daughter, goats milk - to drink and dabbed directly onto the offending parts - clears it up within a day or so for my girl Laughing

Is he wearing wool on his head, this affects some babies, another thing to look at is what you use for laundry soap.

Health visitor told me to use it and gave me such a row when I told her it made it worse - don't be stupid she told me !! Shocked

I told her about the goats milk and she said that she's never heard about it and to go to the doctor and get stronger cream - no I said goats milk is working just fine thank you !

A few weeks later she had done some research on goats milk and was amzed what she found out and starteed suggesting it along with aqueous cream to other mams Laughing

Different things work for different people just the same as different things will trigger an attack Laughing
