A bit of a cheek I know asking for help when I hav'nt been around for a while (incredibly busy)....but am in a real quandary.
My youngest son will be emigrating to Canada in a month's time. I want to get him a going away prezzie.....but am totally stumped as to what!! I thought a nice scrapbook of photos....but he has all the pics on pc......a nice watch perhaps?.....he could afford a nicer one than I could buy......does'nt wear jewellery. I really have racked my brain Sad It does'nt have to be expensive or big.....just something that will remind him of me and of home. We have always been very close and I would feel that he thought I did'nt care if I let him go with no momento Sad
I'll be painting him a picture of the Vulcan plane that he is working on at the moment, later on in the year (not enough time now), so that's out too.
He'll be 29 this year and a typical RAF bad lad!!!!! Smile Any ideas please??

Perhaps a book about your local area? I don't know if that sort of thing would interest him? Or a nice photo frame to put a favourite photo in?

Does it need to be useful? You could give him an engraved trophy with a nice inscription that summarises your relationship?

I think your scrapbook of photos and 'memories' quotes is a really good idea.

I know you say that he has all the photos on his PC as do lots of us - but they can be lost if the system crashes big time

You can't beat picking up a book with some special photos of the 'growing up' years - with a little note underneath

Such as

Remember Christmas when you bought you this 'aeroplane/toy' and 'such and such' came and fell asleep on the sofa and snored?

Remember this - your first shoes/Tshirt - and you wouldn't take it off to go to bed?

And there must be some 'bad lad' photos and stories

It if were me or my son - I would treasure a little book of memories - and photos added too!

It takes time and effort - but is a real joy for the giver and recipient

It might be a bit girly but scrapbooking some photos? You can get loads of boy stuff for that these days. I'm sure he would appreciate any effort you make Very Happy
