I agree CP, I think that the spinning wheel will be a winter hobby, the work garden and the allotment are taking all our time at the mo.
Luckily, I got a big bag of bits, and also two books about spinning. And according to one of the volunteers at the Art Centre, there is a lady in Ilminster who teaches spinning.

I have really enjoyed this spinning lark, its totally addictive, and a very good stress buster. Both skeins have been washed and dried, and I now need a volunteer to hold the wool whilst I wind it!

Barrie?????????????where are you?

Well done Cookie, that looks lovely and good for you to stick at it.  Where are you going for your lessons?

I have to confess to not persevering with it last winter and its definitely one of those crafts that only falls into place with lots of patience and practice.

CP, I went along to a meeting at the Somerset Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers.Got talking, found out that there is a lady up the road from me who teaches spinning. Then I got talking about spinning to a lady I walk the dogs with, turned out that she had a spinning wheel and wanted lessons.
We have a lesson every few weeks in the teachers kitchen.
Never underestimate the power of women chatting! we can sort outmost things!
